Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaThe home is in an alley so you need to walk a bit if you reach this place by taxi. But it's not a big problem
Location is good, really close to point of interests. Owner & his family are accommodating, friendly & kind. Room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast varied from omellete, milk rice porridge, bread with jam, a chance to experience local uzbek breakfast. Also had homemade plov that can be ordered separately. Overall, it was great.

HungaryEverything was perfect! Baxa and his family were amazing hosts, very welcoming. The food was amazing, for a small extra price we got dinner too and could help out with the making of manti. The house is also in a very good location, right in the center. The room was very clean and equipped with everything needed. We 100% recommend it and would definitely return if we ever visit Buxara again!

Shout out to Ibrohim family for offering us the perfect homestay experience! > Room condition: Spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the triple room which matches the property description and picture on the booking page. > Host: The Ibrohim family has been quite kind, warm and helpful throughout the whole stay. All of the family member treated us so well and tried to offer us as much as they can; you will feel that you are really part of their family. > Location: The location of the guesthouse is perfect that it is next to the main attractions in Bukhara. Only 4-5 mins to reach the Kaylan Square, which is in the center of main attractions. It may be difficult to find the closest place for Yandex pick up point but you can ask their family for the help. > Breakfast: Perfect! The breakfast was so impressive throughout the 2 nights we stayed. You can really have taste of the authentic local Uzbek style breakfast, sweet and tea which will definitely be satisfying. > Dinner (optional): I strongly recommend you their homemade dinner (additional payment). Our the best and most impressive plov (with some secret recipe) and mantil in Uzbekistan were from their kitchen! As you may see from the property picture, you will have a chance to join their mantil masterclass and make your own mantil, which is one of my most impressive memories in Uzbekistan. Come to enjoy best homestay experience in Uzbekistan!

United KingdomSuch a friendly and welcoming place! It has the feel of a homestay with delicious breakfasts eaten with one or more of the family, and lunch or dinner available on request (worth trying at least once!). The room was comfortable with a fridge if needed and the guest house well located in the old streets behind the Lyabi Hauz, and a short 10-15 min walk from the centre of the old town. The host was very welcoming and helpful - thank you!

AustraliaThe only thing that caught our attention was that the description on booking.com mentions that guests can use a shared kitchen and when we asked for it, they said that only women were allowed to do the cooking. They were still happy for us to use it, as long as the woman would cook. Just something to keep in mind. They do offer homemade dinner as well. But since we’re vegetarians and travelling for a long time, sometimes it’s easier if we cook our own food :)
Lovely family, clean facilities, great homemade breakfast. Hosts were very flexible with check in/ check out times which we appreciated a lot, since our train arrived at midnight and also left at midnight. Rooms were spacious with a bar fridge and aircon. Toilet and bedrooms as well as the common areas were neat and clean. Strong and reliable wifi connection. Easy walking distance to all historic buildings and attractions. Would definitely stay again and recommend staying here when in Bukhara! Thanks for having us :)

BulgariaNot 10 but 10x10 to this tremendous guesthouse in the center of Bukhara! The owner is one of the greatest persons I have met in my life and he definitely made me feel like at home. The local homemade meals that the family could prepare for you are very delicious, therefore do not miss the chance to try them. The owner can also give you very valuable information about the history and culture of Bukhara and will do everything for your stay to be a great experience.

United KingdomThis is a great place to stay to get a family-stay experience. There are three generations staying here, but the rooms are offset from where the family stay, so no noise problems. The owner will provide dinner if you wish to pay for it, and you should seriously consider it. I did this twice. They make their own manti (dumplings) and other types of good home-cooked traditional Uzbek food. The breakfast is very tasty and won't leave you hungry. The location of the gues house is ideal. From here, you can be in the main square in 15-20 minutes on foot. The rooms have air-con. The host and his family are utterly charming.
