How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It is a super clean hostel in the heart of Samarkand. The location is great and it is well managed. Although it is small, the necessities are provided and it is acceptable.

Just a minor thing: the curtains at the lower bunks stopped at the step to the upper bunk. I wished there would have covered the whole bed from the light shining in and to have more privacy.
Great location, just next to registan. Nice staff.

The men's toilet cubicles have a weird smell to them and could be cleaned more often.
Great location, 95% of the attractions are walking distance and it's very close to some good restaurants and convenience stores! WiFi is good, rooms are clean, and there is secure storage for your stuff!

I loved my stay here! The hostel has a great vibe - people were interacting with one another along with the hostel staff. It was in the central area close to Registan and all the major attractions. I loved that they are able to help to organize a day trip to Tajikistan at a very reasonable price - highly recommended!

One of my favourite stays in Uzbekistan! The bedroom was spacious, comfortable and with all the facilities. I made use of their washing machine too at a small cost. The hostel itself had lovely vibes and the owner is so helpful and welcoming. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Samarkand! Very ideal location

I planned to pay by credit card. Since it was stated on the website that credit cards are excepted, I cancelled another hostel, as I was running out of cash. But, when I checked in, I was told the credit card machine was broken. Miraculously, on the morning of check-out, the machine was functioning! If you don’t want to accept credit cards, please remove this from the website.

Great location close to everything, kitchen available for use, plenty of other travelers interested in chatting. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. The hostel also offers day tours and trips.

Small room.
Perfect location, Registan square was 100 meters away. Clean and well maintained. Staff was great, played games with fellow travellers

I have stayed there for 5 nights. It was very easy to find the hostel and it is very near to the Registan square. I have used the kitchen for some cooking. The staff were very nice and made me feel at home. I have to mention staff Dilya for her friendly services and nice communication skills. Both girls in reception also ensure the place is always kept neat and tidy. I have also met fellow travelers and visited some interesting sites along with them. I shall recommend this hostel to anyone who is visiting Smarkand.

The bed was noisy. Would have helped if that was looked into. And the bed lights are a lil too bright as well. But overall was a good place for travelers especially.
The hostel is near Registan square. So its perfectly placed. Its new and clean. Done nicely. Access to the closeby attraction is also easy. Check in staff was very friendly and spoke English.

The bathroom could have been much cleaner. There was no water the first night, but this was a city issue, not the hostel's fault.
Location could literally not be better. Perfect place to chill while going between the many mosques and monuments. The common room is comfortable and it's easy to come in and out. Overall, I would stay again for the price and location.

The host was excellent but she lost to me in chess :p Best location to stay in Samarkand, Dilya was exceptional and probably the best host I met on my whole trip of central Asia

The staff, while very friendly, have to contend with speaking multiple languages (English, Russian etc.) and therefore couldn't help with most of the questions I had about trains/busses etc.
Great relaxed hostel, I happily extended for two additional nights. Secure with drawers and large enough lockers for each bed, which keeps the floors clear. Very clean, surprisingly cheap (probably because it is a 'cozy' size), seems to attract good people and is perfectly placed for visits to the Registan.
