Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgThe hotel is magnificent in its beauty. The staff is very polite and pleasant to communicate with, help with any questions and give the necessary advice to make your trip to Bukhara unforgettable. The home-cooked breakfast by the owner's mother is very tasty and plentiful. the hotel is located right next to Lyabi Hauz and it is convenient when a car arrives at the hotel. Thank you very much Nizam for everything! If we are in Bukhara again, we already know that we will definitely choose this hotel without a doubt. If anyone is looking for a hotel in Bukhara, then you can safely choose this hotel, you definitely won’t regret it

United KingdomJust a small thing - our room (101) was on the ground floor next to the reception. The window in the room faced a hotel/cafe next door which played music from breakfast until about 9pm. Most of the day we were out so it wasn't a major issue, but it was a little annoying if you wanted to rest/relax in your room. The restaurant opposite, 'Chalet', also had live music most nights, but again it did not go on until late. These issues wouldn't prevent us from staying again as there was no music after 9-10pm, but we might ask for a different room.
Super location - all major sites within walking distance. Superb restaurant called 'Chalet' opposite. Large, spacious room which was tastefully decorated with good storage for clothes. Very comfy bed and reliable AC. Nizam on reception was extremely helpful (good English) and willing to help with anything, as was his mum Jameela. Mostly quiet (see below).

CanadaLight sleepers may have trouble with the loud music and noise from nearby restaurants in the evenings.
There is parking available nearby. The old town is close to the hotel on foot, however it is not accessible by car. SHOHRUD is great for guests who have a rented car.

United KingdomOverall Shohrud is fine for the money. Our room on the ground floor was a little too public so ask for a room on the second floor for more natural light and more privacy. There is noise from a restaurant across the street but this finishes around 11.00 pm. However, the huge negative was the attitude of the gentleman running the hotel, I think his name is Abdul, whose lack of sensitivity made us feel uncomfortable every time we had to interact with him. Throughout our stay, the key for the lock never worked, not a huge problem as we could always get someone to open the door but I suspect if I returned in a year it still wouldn't be fixed. At one point we came back to find our bedroom door left open. We also had a problem with the toilet which was fixed the same day. The issue was that any time there was a problem he embarked on long, repetitive explanations of why it had occurred which inevitably had nothing to do with him. After trying to listen politely he just couldn't seem to take the hint that we just wanted to get the problem solved. He was also extremely persistent in trying to get us to agree to some kind of arrangement where he could avoid paying commission to booking.com which we didn't feel comfortable with. He raised the issue on a couple of days despite us obviously not wanting to agree to this. He also spent a long time trying to impress us about how he could make travel arrangements for us without ever doing anything concrete. My daughter also commented that she started to feel a little uncomfortable during some of her short conversations with him. At the end of our stay, I asked for a receipt of money paid which he kept us waiting for which I couldn't help thinking was a petty reaction to not going along with his plan to avoid paying booking.com commission.
This is a family-run hotel. The mother of the gentlemen who ran the hotel was absolutely wonderful. I don't think I've ever met anyone more hospitable in years of traveling. She presented my daughter with a cake on her birthday which happened during our stay and they had noticed from her passport. She provided a nice breakfast and lots of tea! The room was comfortable and a reasonable size.
