The hosts and staff were simply fantastic. I read similar reviews before and was wondering what it was about, but as an avid traveller I can tell you this is what real hospitality is. Just felt at home and was allowed to relax and enjoy Tashkent thanks to their attitude. Other than that location is nice and calm, breakfast is very rich, rooms were clean and comfortable. Would 100% come back here next time in Tashkent.

It's not very central but the Jandik taxis are easy to get to the points of interest.

It's our favourite place, an oasis in a busy city. Lovely room, a very generous breakfast, nice BBQ if you like. The staff try their best to make you comfortable every day. Highly recommend staying there!

It was about 20 mins to the metro - but it’s so cheap and still the best way to get around so no big deal!

Location on a large boulevard with park near by but not shops.... Shops, restaurants are at about 7/10 minutes walk away on Mukimi Street. Novza subway station is the closest at about 15/20 minutes walk away. The hotel is very nice inside and in the front with outdoor seating.

Everything was perfect!

The hotel is beautiful, spotless clean, the staff was lovely and helpful. The room/bed so comfortable. Peaceful and silent, great WiFi. Location was good for me, markets nearby and beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was so good, they served a great variety of food and local things to taste. Loved everything!

The only constructive feedback I have is that the air conditioning is a little noisy, but I don't think much can be done about that.

The Shahar is a very comfortable, warm and welcoming place. I had no trouble sleeping at all (I do suffer from insomnia) so it was a great comfort to be here. The best thing about the hotel however, is the staff. Ekaterina in particular, looked after me really, really well. I picked up a cold in Tashkent, and Ekaterina was so attentive and helpful, in terms of helping me get the medicine I needed, arranging cars to transport me to various locations around the city, and generally, being caring and available. I am definitely going to stay here again!

Clean and comfortable hotel for 2 nights that I stayed in Tashkent. Staff are very friendly and helpful, booked our cabs to the train station and airport, and helped with leaving our luggage in the hotel. There is a lovely walkway along the river in front of the hotel that I took to the metro and Magic City.

travelled to The Shahar Hotel directly from Tashkent airport. It isn't far but took a little while owing to the busy traffic. The hotel is situated a little bit out of the centre of Tashkent but still within walking distance. The hotel has been built in a traditional style. really liked it from the moment I arrived. There is an outdoor seating area where you can also enjoy breakfast and then there is the main entrance to the hotel. The staff were all great. I particularly liked the young gentleman on reception who checked me in. found him to be very helpful and he even ordered some food on my behalf which was then delivered to the hotel. He then served it to me in the hotel restaurant, definitely going above and beyond. My bedroom was on the ground floor and was fabulous. It was really large, having a dressing ared with a big wardrobe and then a very large bedroom area with additional seating and tea/coffee making facilities The hotel thoughtfully provides everything the traveller may need. They also provided different snacks which was a nice touch. The rooms were immaculately clean. The bathroom nicely decorated and with a good shower. The wifi was also good. The breakfast served was very generous and delicious. Across the road from the hotel is a river with a pathway that runs along side it. Following this pathway creates a pleasant walk which takes about 20 minutes into the centre of Tashkent

The staff in this hotel have exceeded our expectations. We have been traveling to the whole world for business and leisure. We have felt pampered and well-treated by the hotel staff, especially Catharina. They are helpful and can manage the hotel well. It is better than 5-star hotel services. It was a little bit out of town but can get around by taxi easily. Walking is also a great way to see the city.

The receptionists - Katya and Shukur were always ready to help. No task was too big or too small. Because of them my stay was so enjoyable and memorable. Through them I learned more about Tashkent and Uzbekistan. The hotel was great. Breakfast was fantastic. Free supply of tea throughout the day. Rooms always clean and tastefully decorated.

Everything went perfectly smooth! The hotel and the staff was accommodating, helping me in any way they could, let me check in early and provided me with a super tasty vegetarian breakfast! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting this beautiful country. It is well connected with the city centre and still super calm which provided good night sleep. You are at the airport in 10min taxi ride which is also affordable and within the city centre in 5min. Taxi are super cheap and mobile taxi apps work in Uzbekistan. Travelling alone I felt super safe at the Shahar hotel and I will come back there for sure! Thanks again for making me feel welcome :)

I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

The staff were extremely helpful and kind. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Uzbekistan! And the breakfast was lovely— lots of sweets, all completely foreign to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The hotel was beyond our expectations. All personnel that work here are very helpful and accommodating ready to go an extra mile for you. The interior and exterior of the hotel is exceptional, our room was very spacious and comfortable. If you like walking, there’s a nice shady trail along the canal.
