Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe hostel sends message about being strict with covid rules and not allowing ppl from India, Afganistan and Pakistan (nothing against them, just that these countries are specifically metnioned in the message) and then I find a big group of ppl from one of these countries doing a quarantinne after entering the country in this hostel (was told by one of the guests), which is kinda crazy to be allowed. There were people coughing a lot... The hostel is great and I value it high but this is worth of mentioning because some traveller can be concerned with this when planning to stay here.
The hostel looks really nice and clean and the breakfast was basic but ok.

United StatesThis is NOT a criticism of property, they need to make a buck in pandemic. But for reason cited above, property was occupied by quarantiners with onward travel to work in other countries. As such, they sit in hostel all day akin to a human warehouse. Be prepared for a different vibe than you might otherwise expect.
This was my second time around with Topchan. First time I stayed in dorm room and was displeased with quarantining crowd that set negative vibe relative to normal traveler/backpacker types. This time I got a private room and was much happier. Staff is very gracious and no problem leaving a bag in storage.

United StatesHostel dorm rooms are full of Indians quarantining for onward travel to work destination countries. As such, they are not "travelers" but people sitting around hostel all day killing time in what is essentially a human warehouse. I can not knock Topchan for this, they need to make money in a pandemic. But it certainly changes the vibe in negative fashion. I returned a few weeks later, got a private room, and that worked better.
Staff is great. Thank you, Johnnybeck, for all your assistance.

UzbekistanThe bathrooms were a bit iffy, but that's honestly expected in a shared hostel.
The grafitti is cute and the beds are super comfortable. They were able to accomodate my super late arrival and early departure as well.

PolandWhen I arrived to the hostel I asked receptionist about a safety locker for my valuables. They told me that for the female dormitory there is no lockers because it's completely safe + THERE IS a security camera on the hallway. Next day my money get stolen from my backpack. The manger has no solution to this and what's more when asked to check on the cameras he says that the camera is not pointing on the dormitory door so he cannot check. So he lied to me the day before. Absolutely no solution, no intervention, no help. The only thing that they did was to offer me a free night at their unsafe hostel. Definitely NOT recommended.
PLACE NOT SAFE! My money got stolen from my backpack in the female dormitory.

UzbekistanFor $25 per night, you would have poor breakfast which is contains only: one egg, two slices of sausage and few slices of vegetables, also, you will have room without any windows, separate and very rough beds which cannot be connected, not working toilets (only one worked), broken shower. For extra $3 you may have laundry with washing machine, which has big white powder coating (like a rock inside) which was inherited from ancestors. Very thin walls do not let you do anything as it will be loud as airplane flight.
Nothing to be liked in there. Very expensive, very bad place, dirty and poor breakfast, more you gonna find into another block below.

IndiaEverything was good except the immigrants from India, Bangladesh , Srilanka, Pakistan have some notorious behaviour as they are just there to flee away and take Donkey Route to the USA,Canada or Europe. Neither do they travel to Uzbekistan as a tourist just as they took this country as a transit to any other destinations. The hostel was full of Dirty Fellows from Bangladesh and Agents who kept the wash rooms untidy and cannot speak English properly. The hostel authority should look after the matter as everyone should not be allowed to stay at the property.

UzbekistanOther guests: young guys are listening to loud music, talking on the mobile phone till 2am , 3 am and several times have to warn them! In the early morning at 4am other guys get up cooking their Ramadan meals. I slept only 2-3 hours. Before these foreigners never came and it was really quiet and nice. Now the hostels are flooded with these people who don’t sleep nighttime. It has been several months the same problem if these countries people are there.

India🇮🇳🇮🇳 I had booked here for 8 days and the breakfast here was included and there is no breakfast option there. They will give you only one thing regularly,But his kitchen staff were very rude. He did not behave well during this time. He used to serve only one thing regularly for breakfast. It is useless, it is just very dirty. The bathrooms are very dirty. It's not just that he has posted the picture. People are coming after seeing the same picture. I don't know why people are giving it good reviews, but it will be very useless to me and there is a lot of noise in the rooms. If you sleep in the room, there will be someone with you. The second pattern is that no one is going to understand it or not. There are no rules and regulations in this hostel. Anyone can do anything. Very useless and I felt very useless staying in this hostel,
The few staff at the reception were fine, but not so many.
