Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I'd give 12/10 if I could! Hong and her family are the nicest people I've ever met. The location is stunning. Hong adapted the breakfast for my dietary requirements and it was delicious. The family dinners were a great way to meet the other people staying in the hostel, and the food was varied and very tasty. I especially liked the hot pot. The bed was very comfy. The free guided trek was really really good! We loved the dog & cat

United KingdomBeautiful surroundings and lovely interior, we had a private double room which was so comfortable with amazing views. The family style dinner is lovely and great value and the free walking tour was our highlight (but please tip). It’s a little far out of town but it means you feel away from the crowds and there’s a lovely village nearby to go for food and look at the shops.

United StatesDon’t think twice about booking this place. The hospitality of this family is amazing. The mom will cook the best dinner you’ll have in Vietnam while the 2 boys will help her out and also you with whatever you need. Free rich breakfast and lots of fruit. The view from the private rooms is incredible and it’s a great authentic experience. Super quiet, being in the middle of a village just outside SaPa. Highly recommended.

She cooked us a lovely breakfast every morning and a new delicious dinner every night, we learnt to make spring rolls here too! We did a really nice hike with Ming. The property is well located out of the busy town in the rice fields and has amazing views, the room has everything you need and is clean and cosy.

United KingdomWe didn't spot the sign outside about cheap beers til we checked out :) 😀
Amica House is a little gem. Fabulous family who are so friendly & hospitable. The views from the full length window in the morning were so special as the sun rose over the valley. Dinner & breakfast were simple & delicious. Few nice shots of local wine :) Although we didn't stay 2 nights, there was a free 3 hr walk with some other guests the next day & we joined in. An excellent way to leave the slightly touristy village craft areas & get out into the paths looking down on the rice fields. We stopped in a rustic, none touristy coffee shop en route which was lovely.

SwedenThe slight smell in the bathroom when the water didn't go down fully but thats fine.
Beautiful place and beautiful views. The room we got wasn't too private as you could see in from the street but we had a lovely time there. The free walking tour with the son who speaks good English and has a fun sassy attitude. The sweet dogs. They have a decent gym with boxing equipment and some old yoga mats and basic strenght equipment. Good breakfast, always social and down to help, they also offer family dinner.

AustraliaA little bed side table would be handy.
Such a homely, relaxed atmosphere with a comfortable rustic private room and lovely views over the rice fields. Waking up to water buffalo play wrestling outside the window was a great! We stayed 3 nights, the longest of anywhere on our Vietnam trip and so glad we did! Felt like we were really amongst life here. Also, so glad we chose to be out of the bustling, touristy main Sapa town area. The host family are just beautiful!! I cannot say this strongly enough. My son adored playing with their son. They all speak excellent English too. We had dinner there one night which was great and breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. Always more than enough food. They also arranged a scooter for us, taxi transfer to the bus station and our bus to Hanoi which was so appreciated!!!!!! On day 2 we joined their sons and other guests for a trek which was the perfect taste of trekking in Sapa. There was a tap with a filter so being able to refill water bottles was tremendous! Wifi was was A+

AustraliaHong was so hospitable from the moment we arrived. She arranged scooters for us, we had an incredible panoramic view of the rice fields from the room, she also took us for a walk around the local area and it’s really such a spectacular place to visit. Hong also cooked us a traditional Vietnamese meal which was probably one be of the best dinners we had in our whole time in Vietnam, couldn’t rate it any higher! 11/10! Thanks again Hong
