Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusThe ceiling of my room was super low. Even thought it was mentioned that in the room is 2 m and it is less in the bathroom it was too low. In the room it felt as 1,9 m maximum. It was good that host mentioned it in advance in messages but probably it would be good to have it in the room description clearly.
The place is nice and near the historical part. Everything was good, the check in was easy. It is good to follow the street until the end as the Google maps shows it not always perfectly but the place is easy to find as it is in the end of the street.

HungaryQuiet central location in the old quarter. The bed was comfortable and quite large. The bedding was also extra long, I was very happy with it. The owner was very kind, helped with everything, organized airport transfers and trips where we asked! And all this at a very good price.

MalaysiaThe homestay location at the alley. So going there at night might be a bit scary. Moreover, its not that suitable for tall people as the toilet is only 1.6m tall. But theres a taller toilet downstair so thats kinda okay
The location is near to most of the main attraction in Hanoi. Shoutout to the owner for being really helpful and nice.

AustraliaBed was very hard, I barely slept but my fiancee was fine but after 3 nights was struggling a bit. Some communication issues on the room required some shuffling which was a pain but Nu worked it all out before check in.
Great location, nice bathroom and Aircon, water refill station was excellent. Very quiet and had space for me to have a work meeting at 3am without disturbing anyone. Right in the thick of ancient town was a great place to be as well. Nu was great and offered a lot of excellent info on what to do including word docs.

We stayed on the 5th floor and the room was spacious and had a good amount of natural light. It was extremely peaceful and quiet which is unbelievable considering it is situated right in the heart of the Old Quarter. The location couldn’t be better! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. There’s a kitchen downstairs that guests can use.

Excellent location, at the hart of the old city but really quiet! It was a cheap hotel closed to everything! The room was Clean, the owner was every helpful and welcoming!

LaosThe place can be a little hard to find navigating through the alleyways, and the stairs to the room are a little narrow, which is the case in most of the old quarter. The beds are hard, which is also most of the case in Vietnam.
Very clean, and the host was very helpful with tips and orgasing tours. Great location in the heart of the old quarter. Being on the top floor meant we were isolated from all the hustle and bustle of the streets.

United KingdomNothing we didt like.
Great location for exploring Hanoi. We organised our taxi from the airport with them no issues, and they met us once we arrived as it is located down a side alley so may have struggled to find it without them. Comfy bed and nice shower 👍🏼

GermanyGreat location in the center of old quarter but still quiet, as it's a bit hidden in the ally (make sure to check the pictures they send you to find the place, otherwise it's not possible :D) We returned three times to amor fati during our travels, as room was fairly priced, basic but clean (although much darker than pictured here on the pics) and communication was quick. Also the owner helped with transport bookings which was hassle-free. We were able to leave some luggage as well. Definitely great value

United KingdomThe only downside was my TV did not work, the Internet is fast and reliable, so TV probably not an issue for most.
The location is very quiet, you can not hear the traffic noise, which is really good after a day out in the city. There is a kitchen downstairs and it really does feel like you are staying in an apartment rather than a hotel. Bed is comfy, AC works very well, shower is hot if needed. There are plenty of eating options nearby and the lake is only 5 to 10 min walk away, many other tourist places are also close. Nu was very helpful and contact was always possible through WhatsApp, she can arrange transport and tours but there is no hard sell like other places I've stayed.

GermanyAt night sometimes outside on the street we saw some cockroaches but we think thats probably the case everywhere in ha noi and not avoidable. I found the bed a little bit hard, but nit a big problem for me…
It is in a really good location with lots of good cafes, restaurants and sights nearby. But the homestay itself is in a really quiet location! The host was very helpful, helping us organize a motorbike for a couple of days and keeping our heavy luggage safe for the days we were out lf the city (at no extra charge!) She also upgraded our room!

MalaysiaThe aircon wasn't as cool as we would have liked it to be, which you really need in the hot weather after being out all day. The bathroom door was a bit hard to slide but still useable.
Amor was really helpful and easy to communicate to before, during and after our trip. She helped to recommend some spots and organise our transport which we gladly appreciate. Our accommodation was literally inside a coffee shop which we thought was really cool and authentic. The rooms were clean and simple, which were fine for us as we spent most of the day out. The little roof-top was a nice little bonus to sit and relax there with friends.

Piece and quiet in the bustling city of Hanoi. It was hard to find but just call the owner and she will find you. Because it's tucked away it is also away from a busy street and all the noise. The room was nice and everything worked perfectly.

United KingdomPeaceful homestay in the centre of Hanoi Old Quarter, really close to everything, but tucked away enough that noise from the street was never an issue. Water refill and air con was provided, which was a lifesaver during the heatwave when I stayed! Great if you want somewhere quiet to go back to after a day of sightseeing (which is what I wanted), but less recommended if you're looking to meet other travellers.

Perfect place to stay in Hanoi, even though located in Old Quarter, but the place was further into the small alley that makes it quiet place despite not far from the busy road. Easy access, the owner Ms Nu was super super helpful! She arrange the bus and shuttle for us, and she gives us information how to get to other places without hassle. We stay there when we arrived to Hanoi, and back from Lao Cai, and stay there again for the last two days exploring Hanoi. Recommended for anyone who looks for hassle free place in Hanoi!
