How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Resident cockroaches 😅
Breakfast good. Good location, lots of cafes, places to eat and shop. Staff lovely, friendly. Beds comfy. Showers good. Towels included in price. Very good value. Staff good at helping organising trips.

The light for my bed did not work. Washroom doors had gaps in them.
The staff were so friendly and wonderful! I enjoyed talking to them. Rooms were very comfortable. Great location near bars and trendy restaurants.

Not much I didn’t like, however the shower and sink drains drained very slowly so it was a little annoying
Right in the city, people were super nice and has a little restaurant in there as well.

There was little gap in the bathroom door. Visible from the outside. But no big problem with that

- There isn't really a common area, though you can hang out in the outdoor cafe at the front of the hostel
- Bed had a privacy curtain - Breakfast was really good - It's on a quiet street, but super close to the main road - Lots of good tours offered and available to book

I only missed a shelf next to the bed to put my glasses in the night
Clean Hostel in perfect location. Bed with curtain, light and socket Super nice and helpful stuff. The bus with sightseeing to Hoi An they booked for me was great too. Thank you!

We were upgraded due to an issue with the room we booked. Sometimes this can be disappointing but the upgrade was very good. Moved to Amy 3, a stones throw from Amy 2, staff were lovely, excellent breakfast, they booked a whole day tour of Hue for us which was fantastic. As we took the sleeper train the night after, we were welcome to use the communal shower at Amy 2, despite us not having met the receptionist previously, she was so lovely, provided us with towels, chatted with each of us while the other showered. Also pointed out the water refill station saving us money. Brilliant place- highly recommend.

It was pretty much in the centre with loads of bars and restaurants around. But where you are when you sleep, you can't hear any street noise. The staff were very helpful and informative of places to go and offered plenty of days trips

One if the best hostels in Vietnam! Super comfy veds, has curtains. I stayed in an 8 bedroom dorm and we had two bathrooms!! breakfast was also nice

Extremely friendly staff and well located hostel, near to walking street. Room is clean and there is an attached bathroom. Initially i booked for a 4 bed room but it wasn't available during my check in. They offer me a free breakfast with a 6 bed room as an alternate and which was okay for me ! shower gel, shampoo and towel is available with the bed.

The staff in Amy 2 were very helpful, always asking for our plans and offering advice. The location was excellent, especially at night.. you're right beside all the nice bars, restaurants etc. but it's still very quiet. Breakfast was quick, easy, and very fresh. The room was very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend. We stayed in the 4 bed dorm.

Common area is half in open air; no shoes allowed while bathroom floor is wet and in same room as toilet; air-conditioning was very noisy and distracting me from sleeping. Couldn't get it of

Everything!! I didn’t expect too much from a hostel but everything about this hostel was amazing. It’s so clean, beds are comfy, you have a balcony and 2 bathrooms in the room, staff are super lovely, they have nice breakfast and the location is very good as well.
