How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing to like. It’s amazing!!
This is my second stay at this hotel within 6 months and I just loved it more. The location is perfect for old quarter, the staff are AMAZING and booked our ha long bay day trip and 3 day ha Giang tour. They looked after us so well and even upgraded our room when we returned from Ha Giang. I will always be grateful to the staff members here for taking good care of us. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are spotless! Thank you team. We can’t wait to return and stay with you guys again. Love from Jamie and Caleb xx

Brilliant place to stay in Tam Coq. Run by a hard working friendly helpful family. The Homestay is out of town but you can rent a scooter for 100,000 dong a day. It’s clean, good aircon, large rooms, lovely bathroom, comfy bed, good wifi, nice clean pool, well landscaped, good breakfast, near tourist attractions, great advice, laundry, peaceful. Can’t think of anything we didn’t like. Amazing The family deserve to be fully booked. We would love to come back one day.

The staff is really friendly, especially Hang! She helped us organize the transfer from the airport, the cruise at Halong Bay and the water puppet theater. The hotel is located in the center of the old town, but it's really quite!

The bathroom downstairs was unclean.
Easy to find food there. The staff was nice. 1 night is OK but more than that would be too tight. But that's what you get in old city.

Super helpful staff!! Got our baggage mixed up at the airport and staff sorted it out for us. Cannot recommend this accommodation and the staff enough! Rooms were also very lovely and spacious.

The room was missing a window, but this is not a big problem if you plan to visit the visit most of the day and you use the provided air conditioning.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have given us good restaurant recommendations and helped me in searching an open pharmacy in the early morning. The room was clean and the air conditioning with dry function has helped us to deal with the humidity.

The room itself had a very small window that didnt get any natural light, and the big lights in the room.are a bit overbearing - however this is a minor detail!
The staff here could not do more for you, I had a few changes of plans and they were so accomodating, helped me with a very late check in, and gave great tips for getting around Hanoi to see everything. Cannot over state how amazing and helpful they were, nothing was tok much.

Our room was small with limited space around the bed on 2 sides and there wasn’t a convenient place to put 2 people’s luggage.
We loved the location in the Old Quarter, a little further away from the most touristy areas. Our 5th floor (501) balcony was a delightful place to spend mornings and evenings overlooking the street and surrounding buildings. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean/ great condition and had lots of hot water.

Amazing customer service from everyone in reception. Helped us book a last minute 1-day tour to Ha Long Bay, laundry service, and airport taxi. Easy to reach staff via WhatsApp. Also thoughtful that they provide ear plugs to help you sleep better. Loved having the balcony in our room as an additional seating area. Bed was very comfortable. We thought the room was spacious for 2 of us.

The young lady by the reception desk was very helpful and talkative. I did receive a list of recommendations for meals and cafes around the place. The location is extremely good.

The only thing would be that the room is slightly dated, but it was very clean and I was perfectly comfortable.
Excellent location, great price point, staff were absolutely lovely. I felt very welcome, comfortable and safe here.

One down side is that there is no communal area or restaurant in the hotel to relax other than in your room, however you are in the heart of the Old Quarter so there is lots to see and do.
Stewie, Ruby and their team made me feel right at home despite it being my first experience in SE Asia and in Hanoi Old Quarter no less! My room was on the top floor towards the back of the property accessed by a lift then 1 flight of stairs. It was fairly quiet most of the time and I was provided ear plugs in case needed. There is a small window but with no view however the room had everything else you could think of such as toiletries, water, tea/coffee making facilities. I arrived in the morning before I was able to check in, but I spoke to Ruby via whatsapp and she was happy to allow me to leave my bag there until later in the day. Stewie arranged a limousine to Ninh Binh so it was a seamless journey from the hotel doorstep.
