How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Such a warm welcome. Absolutely lovely Receptionist/Manager who went above and beyond for me. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was varied and fresh.

There was no window but we don’t care for staying at night.
Great location. Clean and comfy room with wide bed and separated shower (divided by glass which is not typical in Vietnam. For the breakfast you can choose European and Vietnamese meals. They can prepare fresh Pho for you. Helpful receptionist prepared breakfast packages for our early departure.

One of the beds was rock hard so we ended up sharing a bed. The bathroom was more like a wet room that stayed damp the whole time. The rooms were not sound proof at all, we could hear everything, voices, elevators, anything. They should provide earplugs for future guests.
Very spacious rooms and huge beds. The staff were lovely and accommodating. They even kindly made us sandwiches when we told them we were missing breakfast for an early bus.

Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. The location is super, walkable to everywhere. Our room is a bit small, but we chose the cheapest room type, so it worked for us both the price and services.

Another night back and everything went right. Would recommend Aquarius for their good location, good price and good services. Early airport transfer was arranged easily without early fees. Big value!

Better desk for working from. Some TV channels fuzzy.
The Aquarius Grand does what it does well. It is a small hotel, well located in the Old Quarter. Staff is helpful. Breakfast is solid (the noodles, which they cook and serve in the morning, are probably best, and they fried eggs, omelets, fruit, and more as well). If I wetn back to Hanoi, I would not hesitate to stay there again, and would take them up on arranging the tours for me.

We were satisfied with all aspects of our stay.
The staff were exceeding friendly, helpful and professional at all times. Our airport transfers and tours were efficiently arranged and communication with the hotel before arrival was easy and effective. The bedroom was functional and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety including fresh local fruits. The hotel room was well glazed and therefore quiet enough despite overlooking the street. We liked the location ,plenty of local restaurants and cafes , and great for exploring to old quarter on foot.

Great staff!!! Loved everyone at the hotel especially the two ladies. The breakfast was one of the best Vietnamese meals out there. The room we stayed in was quiet from hustle and bustle of the streets. Will def come back and recommend to everyone

Only issue was the bathroom drainage, water filled up from the shower very quickly and would not go through the drains. The bathroom floor easily flooded. Not an issue as towels were provided which we used to dry up the floors.
Great value for money. Walking distance to most amenities and tourist attractions. Staff are lovely and made sure we were well looked after. They booked our late hotel pick up and even allowed us to leave our luggage for an extra hour after check in. Very friendly, would recommend! Also.. offered us the BEST noodle soup in Vietnam!
