Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Firstly, the staff was extremely supportive when I had arrived late at night in Hanoi. They helped me throughout the time till I reached the hotel as my cab driver kept asking me questions and he didn’t speak English. The location is absolutely spot on to move around freely. Everything is within reach by walk or a short ride.

SingaporeThe staff communicated directly via WhatsApp and occasionally asked for a 10/10 rating on Booking.com. We felt somewhat pressured to comply and only received a taxi discount after showing them the review, which felt a bit like influencing feedback. Fortunately, with two bookings, I can now provide an honest review. The rooms lacked a view and were humid, and the staff, while well-meaning, could be a bit intrusive, especially when offering assistance with booking transportation or tours through the hotel. Despite these issues, I would still recommend staying here, even though it may be slightly more expensive than other options.
The staff were helpful; we were able to arrive late, and they upgraded one of our rooms for free. The rooms are clean, and they provide free coffee, tea, and water. They also offer tours and transportation services, which is nice. They speak English very well and are friendly.

The location is great, situated in the middle of the old quarter, next to many bars, cafes, and shops. The staff is nice and helpful, organizing and proposing tours and hotel services such as transportation and 24-hour check-in. We also received an upgrade because the room didn’t have AC.

Location was amazing. Rooms had all basic facilities, Breakfast was decent. Staff (especially Peter) helped us booking local tours (Jeep tour, Halong Bay tour), arranged airport pickup and drop, local currency, suggested local places to have coffee, food and shopping. My child accidentally left mobile in taxi to airport arranged by Peter and he tracked it down, and arranged to get it delivered to India through some other guest in hotel. He is so helpful and gem of a person.

United StatesGood location in Old Quarter,Hanoi area. Stores, foot spas and restaurants are just outside of the hotel.It’s a 10-15 min leisure walk to the lake. You can easily go around Hanoi and see major landmarks riding a cyclo. The hotel staff are all friendly.Their smile made us feel welcomed every time they see us.The hotel manager Peter did a great job in booking all the tours for us specially the Halong Bay Cruise thru Essence Grand.I also commend Eli, the hotel staff during the night. He’s so kind hearted specially to my elderly mom. He always assisted my mom with care. Another hotel staff, whose name I forgot was so nice too.He’s the the young teen guy that brings stuff to our room whenever we needed something.
