Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe storage space doesn't have a lock so you have to bring your own lock. They have one bathroom for one entire floor
Good hostel with hospitable staff. Comfortable dorm. They provide free breakfast. I had an early check-out so they offered to provide me a packed breakfast which was sweet. They rent out bicycles that you rent for 30000 dong for one day.

ItalyThe dormitory on the lowest floor smells mould, but they let me change and I was happy with the new room.
Very social place, mostly for young people in their twenties, with cheap laundry and bicycles. The dormitory on the upper floor was very nice and comfy.

IndiaThe only place in my entire Vietnam trip where they insisted on keeping my passport for verification (others were ok with scanning the front and back pages). The absence of an elevator. Climbing up 4 floors with luggage wasn't easy. Two sets of bathrooms and toilets per floor, so gets used exhaustively, hence needs more frequent cleaning.
The location is premium, right next to Old Town with the Hoi An bridge being at a walkable distance (15 min). Spacius lobby and dining area, hospitable employees and overall clean facilities. The room was good, absolutely loved the locker area as one can just slide the heavy luggage in. Breakfast is free and varies daily. Overall great place, for the prices charged.

AustraliaEasy walk to the sights. Lots of food options about the area. Included breakfast is fine with option of freshly made omelet with coffee and basic juices. Busy hostel that I think you need to be booking ahead. Good place to meet like minded travellers. The dining area is spacious and turns into a bar area at night.

JordanNo elevator, so not accessible for those who cannot take the stairs. The staff does help with the bags but if a visitor is a wheelchair user or someone with mobility challenges, it will be very challenging and I hope this is taken into consideration. The breakfast is extremely limited and the eating area is not very organized and could be cleaner too.
The rooms are more spacious than I thought, good light coming into the rooms, everything worked well, the location is great and the place is easy to find. Those who want to work can also go to the cafe downstairs. The walk towards old town is brief and so much is on the way. Would stay there again! Also great value for money.

AustraliaThe only thing I didn't like was there's no lifts and prepared for the high step stairs. The 4th level was nightmare, climbing up and down and sharing the bathroom with everyone, no female bathroom, it was ok. Everyone was really mindful of each other.
I stayed 2 nights. The reception ladies are so friendly and helpful, including Ann, she's amazing. English was spoken and understood by the staff there, which was really surprising for me.

United KingdomThe air con wasn’t the best we’ve had but it did the job :)
All the staff are so lovely and welcoming and informative about what to do whilst you’re staying in Hoi An. The breakfast is included in the price and it’s delicious! They will make any eggs you want (scrambled, omelette etc) all with sides of fruit, salad, rice, vegetarian options too with tea / coffee / juice. The room was lovely and cancelled out any noise going on. Maids came and cleaned your room each day which is a nice touch when travelling around all day. The common room area to socialise is great too with different games available too. Would reccomend staying here if you’re in Hoi An!

United KingdomThe bunk beds were very noisy and the mattress was very hard! The bins also needed emptying more in the toilets on each dorm floor as they kept overflowing often. You also need a big padlock to lock your belongings under the bed as smaller ones don’t work!
The location is very good, a very short walk away from the old town. The staff were helpful, the room was clean and it’s quite a sociable hostel. Breakfast was good too.

Dynamic hostel where you'll see lots of young travelers doing their thing. Convenient location to walk to town, but nowhere else. Set up in a quiet street. Comfy room, real enclosed shower, and most complete/varied hotel breakfast i had in three weeks.
