Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEnglish speaking Customer service.
I like everything except they 1. don’t have water fountain. You have to buy water bottles. 2. Online price is higher then on desk price. 3. They charged service charged for any booking. If you don’t ask, they will tell you and charged on room charges.

UruguayThe check in is at 2 PM (quite late) and the included breakfast somehow doesn't includes coffee or any drink (it feels like a big letdown and quite misleading) but overall a good experience
The location is very good, the staff is very nice and the facilities were more than satisfactory, especially the room size.

United KingdomPlease start breakfast at 6.30am when so many leave at 7am, even just toast, jam and fruit self-service. The coach didn't stop so having something would have helped!
I loved that they never turned people away who came early or on a night bus. Excellent kindness and generosity. Staff are super sweet, and will organize anything.

United StatesNo toiletries in the private room. Rooms are a bit pricy for what you get, but I guess you're paying for the social aspect. The private rooms are just below the roof deck, so all the noise from the bar lasts until at least 12am. If you're a light sleeper - something to consider. The hostel has a weird deal where they shut off the power for the air conditioning from the front desk every day, so if you want A/C in your private room, you have to go the front desk on a daily basis to ask them to turn it back on. It probably helps them save money on their energy bills, but it's a bit annoying when you're paying extra for your own room.
Great social atmosphere - I met some really nice people on their rooftop deck and in their lobby area. They have group tours available to explore the local area. The beds and pillows are fairly comfortable. Close to the beach - less than a 10 minute walk.

Philippines-The room smelled mouldy (like it rained inside but didn't get dry after) so you kinda had to open the door for a while to air it out. -My bed creaked like crazy. Every move i made made the loudest creak. it was so noisy and uncomfortable not just for me but probably for everybody in the room. The door also creaks every time you open/close it, like it was a pig being slaughtered. -You have to rent everything including the towel and they ask to keep your passport for the whole time you're checked in which was a little uncomfortable, at least for me because I'm used to the hostels just taking a photo of it or asking to pay a deposit.
-The staff were nice and very reliable. They helped me book a bus to go back to Saigon when everything i checked was fully booked. -They don't have big lockers, only small ones for valuables but the room was big enough to fit everyone's huge backpacks & luggages. -The bathroom was a little small but clean enough, i guess.

CanadaWe had a private room for 1 night. But the private rooms are right under the rooftop bar and so the room was quite noisy until midnight. I was disapointed that the free breakfast did not include coffee and was then overcharged for a powdered coffee (3 in 1 mix)
It was a nice place, close to the markets and waterfront and in the back of an alley so we didn't hear the traffic.

United StatesThe shower water at night could be cold. Also, so much natural light floods the room in the morning, that sleep becomes impossible -especially after drinking the night before.
Excellent location, nice place to meet other travelers. The bar was nice. Very nice place to meet other travelers and make new friends. When the owner spilled his drink on me, he bought me another one and went to bed😝😘 Classic. I will return.
