How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The scooter we rented could use some maintenance, but in the end it got us from A to B.
The location is phenomenal, the room was exceptionally clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Fin who is the manager and owner of Bonjour Hostel is absolutely fantastic and makes your stay feel like home. Every morning we were warmly welcomed and given advice on what to do with the day. The rooms are clean, and spacious, with AC and fan. The breakfast is varied, and you can hire scooters and bicycles. It’s close to the river and also just down from the bars and restaurants.

The people running the hostel were very friendly and welcoming. They were always available to give us advice and help us organise our trips with calling taxis for us and telling us where to get really nice food. The rooms are well cleaned, organised and quiet.

Some updates to bedroom fixtures as small improvements - personal light, table was a bit wobbly. Small things which did not matter much.
Central location, bicycle hire, wonderfully helpful staff, I could shower before my night train after check out, staff remembered guest names.

The only negative was that we booked a 7am bus for our onwards travel and when we booked it we were told by a member of staff that if we came down early that morning they could prepare some breakfast to take away with us for our trip (as breakfast doesn’t start until 7:30am). However, when that morning came around a different member of staff was on duty and just told us they don’t start breakfast until 7:30am even after we explained the situation and so had to go on with tightening our belts for the 5 hour journey instead!
Absolutely amazing! Great value for money, the staff were so helpful and friendly, and the bedroom was very clean and comfy! Breakfast was also great with a good selection to choose from :)

The room was a bit damp but I was never in there besides sleeping so my window was always closed
They roast the bread and add salt to the eggs during breakfast which was nice. The staff are really friendly.

Not super social as no real common area, but again this is not a party hostel more so a comfortable break from the crazy backpacker lifestyle! Smaller dorm rooms make it easier to meet people!
The comfiest hostel beds ever! Very clean, hot showers and a great selection for breakfast! Very close to restaurants, attractions and bars!

Bunk bed with only one curtain on one side, from "top" and "bottom" side wide open and next to the others bunk bed. Dont take the tour to Hoi an city, is not worth it.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Tour available in the desk with good prices. Breakfast was good. Bathroom clean. Each bed with his one electric outlet

It would be great if you can keep shower gel and shampoo in the shower area. For towels you need to pay extra but its fine for me
The room is very comfortable with an attached bathroom and the bed is super comfy! The receptionist was so friendly and courteous. The location is next to the walking street and it's really convenient. They have different choices for breakfast and overall its absolute value for the money.

The lady who's runs the hostel, Fin, is incredibly helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her. The hostel itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the free breakfast is nice too.
