Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great central location. Close to lots and lots of eateries. A wonderfully warm welcome (with biscuits and a bottle of chilled water) upon arrival. Very homey!

United StatesThe homestay is located in a back alley but there is a small store across where neighbors meet and chat loudly until late at night while seating outside. My room was above the alley so I could hear all that.
The lady who runs the homestay is adorable. She was very helpful with booking tours and bus tickets. The room was clean and comfortable.

SpainIf you go to Can Tho, you have to stay at Buddha Homestay! The lady doesn’t speak English but she comes prepared with google translate in your own language and she is very helpful with anything you need. She organized the tour to the floating market for me and advised on places to eat or have coffee. And for once, I found a place with a single room where I don’t pay the same place as for a couple!! Thank you so much for everything!

United KingdomNothing really, it was a great experience.
The place is clean, the bedroom has all you need, including aircon. The bed is very comfortable. It's a lovely location of small streets. Just outside you can sit on a bench, order a beer, and watch the world go by. The lady who runs the Buddha homestay is incredibly helpful and efficient in making sure we reach our next destination in Cambodia Sianoukville, 450km away. She uses an app and she can conduct a real conversation in any language.

AustraliaThe lady that runs this homestay is very friendly, and gave us cold water when we return to the homestay and gives us snacks, and breakfast in the morning before our bus ride to HCMC. I originally planned to stay one night however our tour the next day was cancelled, and the homestay let us stay an extra night in a different room, and organised a tour to the floating markets in the morning as well as booking the bus to HCMC. Very genuine people, and nice to experience Vietnamese hospitality at its finest, she definitely fed us with love and seemed to enjoy meeting all the people staying at her homestay.

United StatesThis is such a comfortable + clean homestay! The hostess is so incredibly lovely, warm, and welcoming. She makes you feel at home right away. My room was simple, but perfect for my needs. Very clean and tidy :) The hostess helped organize a boat tour, which I really appreciated + enjoyed. I also really liked the neighborhood - right by a lake, with lots of cafes and restaurants to visit. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

United StatesMy room was on the 2nd floor and it was a bit loud through the night. Would have been nice to have earplugs.
The women that run this homestay are so wonderful. Felt fully taken care of. Spent each evening sharing fruit and speaking over Google translate. They take turns making sure one of them is available at any hour and maintain a cozy and clean homestay. Really enjoyed the location too. Found good food, live music, and a beautiful park by foot each night.

United KingdomEverything was great about the Buddha Homestay. Straight away the host made me feel welcome and offered food and a drink, and we had a lovely chat over google translate. She was always helpful and kind, organising a tour for the floating markets and recommending what to do including the Cacao Farm which was great! The room was great with aircon, fridge, and balcony. The location was very central and a short walking distance to the river. I would definitely return here. Thanks!

FranceNothing we disliked about the guest house ! However, we were disappointed by the "Cai Rang" floating market where there are more tourist boats than merchants boats. Nonetheless, the motobike drive from the guesthouse to the wharf at 5 am was a fun experience.
The host, Kiều Giang, is a lovely lady with a big heart: she welcomed us warmly with a drink and cookies, and gave us a "chè" as a 'good luck' good-bye. Well-located guesthouse, friendly neighborhood, comfortable rooms and beds. Definitely recommend it !

United KingdomI had to switch rooms as the first one you could not see anything from the balcony it was covered by trees and also when it rained there was an inch of water covering it. The floating market I was advised to take was shocking. Chinese tourists climbing over me to take photos and being the only westerner there the host totally ignored me, I had no idea what was going on as she never spoke any English. To be honest if she did it wouldn’t have made the tour any better. It was one hour on the boat and totally centred around the tourist with really high prices and very little choice, 5am pick up for an extremely disappointing tour. The shower was quite cold and the room needs to be cleaned better, 2nd hand soap in a dirty dish.
The lady was lovely, the Wi-Fi was good and she cooked me a meal for free.
