Staff is so helpful and friendly. They looked fornus tours, transporte, and let us stay in the room longer that expected until our taxi arrived. The views are beautiful, and they have the most friendly doggies and puppies around

The staff here were incredible, Ha personally picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, and dropped us off for the cave tours. Our breakfast pho was great. The best part was the 9 day old puppies and Ding!

A lovely family with a warm, homely feel. You’re instantly greeted by a few fur puppy friends (one politely shook my hand). The view from the villa is breathtaking to wake up to. It is small but has everything you need and a yummy breakfast provided also.

We had a truly lovely stay at the cute bungalows. The owners went all out to assist us in making our trip unforgetable, advising us about the tours, picking us up and dropping us off at the nearest train station, and were really flexible about the check out time too. We felt at home away from home, I would definitely recomment staying at this cute homestay!

This was my third stay at Carambola. Me and my friends keep coming back whenever we are in phong nha. We love the friendly welcome we get from Ha and his family, the privacy of the lovely bungalows overlooking the river, and the home cooked food. A fantastic place to stay! Thanks Ha.

I wouldn’t say there was anything we “didn’t like”. If you want to be super picky, the food options for breakfast weren’t fantastic but I’m being harsh. We were all a little ill for those days so eating wasn’t our thing at the time anyway 😁

As with everywhere we’ve been in Vietnam, the staff are tireless & happy to do whatever they can to make your stay better. It was super laid back. The accommodation is all built above/around the communal dining areas which are a few steps from the waters edge. It would be too far to walk to Phong Nha town so keep that in mind but scooters/bikes are available to guests. The room was great for a family of four with three beds, air con & a couple of fans combining to deliver a perfect temp for us. Bathrooms were very good. Shower was good but hot water was slow to heat (not that we cared). We arrived super early (8.30am) from an overnight train & they had us in our room by 12pm which was awesome. Whilst we were beat, we just sat in the river to cool off.

Nothing but it will be great if they add more Kayaks. There is a gym area but no barbel. It will be great to add those and few weights. This is not accommodation related, but bring your own motion sickness pills and bug repellent. We couldn't find these because they were out of stock. Again, it is a holiday. So many people may have been buying it.

Everything has been great! The accommodation is right by the river. You can pay via card payment or bank transfer through Wise which I am so happy with. The staff are always prepared to assist and even serve drinks whenever we return. The bed and pillows are comfortable. Thank goodness there is a sofa and the patio furniture is comfortable to sit in. You can use the bike and kayak. The tours and even bus tickets to Hue were handled for me. I recommend doing Paradise Cave and Dark Cave via a tour. The water is so blue in the Dark Cave area and we had so much fun. I think Phong Nha cave is near the accommodation enough for you to go on your own because we saw many went there without a tour guide. However, I actually really liked knowing the history of the caves. So the guided tour was excellent. We also went to Botanical gardens because the group we were with recommended it. We took the longest route and I think it is extremely easy for experienced hikers. We stopped a lot to take photos and it took us 2 hours but they say it will take 3 hours. We also saw a few people bicycled up there. We booked a car instead. It is doable but if you have a kid who isn't used to elevated biking, it is best to walk or book a car. It was a fun trip. If it wasn't too hot or crowded due to it being a school holiday until August, I would have signed up for more trekking tours.

Dogs living on property were quite noisy at times in the middle of the night.

The staff is extremely helpful and nice. They helped us organising cave trips and jungle hiking. And supported with the transfers tot he airport. The owner was really friendly and texting in whatsApp, replied quickly, provided all the needed info. Highly recommend

Late May was unseasonably hot (38 degrees).

Overlooking the river with water access. Free bicycles made access easy to the town centre and the countryside. Friendly helpful family run the place and can help with booking tours if you need advice. The countryside is beautiful with karst hills clothed in greenery rising steeply above the town. The Paradise Cave was stunning with superb stalactites and stalactites of huge dimensions. World class and an absolute must to visit.

I would highly recommend staying at Carambola. It was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, the yard/common area was beautiful and well maintained. You can also swim in the river from the property the water is clean and refreshing! We were very happy to be greeted on our first day by 3 extremely friendly well mannered dogs who call this gorgeous property home! They have bikes you can use to get around town as well which was great! I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone who is traveling to Phong Nha.
