Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe spa services (and staff) were a downside. I only used the services once and would not go back. The room was brightly lit. The massage therapists did not offer any privacy before or after the service and I don't think they actually had any training in massage. Definitely a disappointment and not on par with the rest of the hotel services.
The location of breakfast was a little awkward with new guests arriving but that will be resolved when the new dining area is completed. The food was fine.

United Kingdomas we are in the main centre, the night markers play music till very late which we can hear from our rooms. it’s not a problem if you are a deep sleeper or sleep late but yes definitely be mindful of this.
it was in the main centre - everything was walking distance! the staff were super friendly and accommodated us with everything we needed. I would definitely recommend

United KingdomWe felt the room needed a mirror as there was only one small mirror in the washroom and the toilet needed a counter or shelf for keeping the toiletries. Could also add some chairs in the balcony.
Good location, very close to key tourist attractions. Staff were very friendly, helpful and keen to accommodate requests. Breakfast options were fair.

AustraliaThis new hotel is located in the perfect spot if you are wanting to explore the Old quarter- everything is within walking distance. Dinh assisted to organise a car to pick us up from the airport- a driver was waiting with a sign and made it really easy. Dinh made this process so easy and had great communication! We have made 3 seperate bookings with this property, 2 nights initially and then 1 night inbetween travelling to/from HaLong Bay and Sapa and returning post. When returning for our second stay, we were gifted an upgraded room to the junior suite with small balcony as we were returning guests and it is wonderful! From reading other reviews the noise was a concern, however it was no hindrance to us, both on levels 4 and 7. You can hear a little from the behind street- it is beer street and the hotel is in the middle of the old quarter so there will always be a little noise but no concern for us. Nice breakfast, has a good selection of foods available! The safe didn’t work in our first room- this was given as feedback on check out and the staff were grateful for the notification and will rectify. All staff have been so lovely and welcoming! We are looking forward to returning for 1 more night when we return to Hanoi!

Casa Dos Principes is located in the centre of Hanoi’s Old Quarter making it an easy location to explore the city. The hotel is an oasis to step away from the hustle and bustle and offers a friendly and modern hotel to call home.

AustriaHowever, the location also means that it can be rather loud at night. The bas from the music of the surrounding pubs can be heard, or rather felt at night.
New, modern, clean and well designed. Also located in the middle of the old quarter which is a big bonus and the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

IrelandThe location in the old quarter is perfect for a few days (or longer in Hanoi). The hotel and room were really comfortable. We had read some reviews about some street noise (it’s a busy area), the staff mentioned this on arrival and offered to change our room if we needed to, which we didn’t having slept so well on our first night. What really made our stay was the staff. They couldnt have been more welcoming and helpful. From Dinh answering all of our questions before we arrived, Henry recommending great places to go and where to eat and Sunny ensuring we got a taxi out to the airport (not easy during Tet) and looking after our bags for our last day, even though we’d checked out earlier in our holiday. We’ll definitely be back in Hanoi and hope to stay at Casa Dos when we do.

SingaporeClean, comfortable and modern facilities. Right at the heart of Old Quarter only a stones throw from bier street. Amazing staff and incredibly helpful manager (Mr Dinh Lee) who made my trip to Vietnam very memorable. He organised my full itinerary and helped me book tours at great prices. He treated me like a friend and gave me so many tips to enjoy my stay in Hanoi. Having traveled to several countries across Asia, Europe and Americas and stayed in even 5 star hotels, the level of service I got from Casa Dos Principes was really top notch. The hotel is located so close to bier street that it can tend to get noisy late at night on weekends. I'm perfectly ok with this but some people may not be. Do let the staff know when you check in and they are kind enough to offer you a room that is less noisy. Rooms also have ear plugs so you can sleep more comfortably. The hotel was also great value for money and I will highly recommend for anyone visiting hanoi.
