Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bits of flotsam and jetsam ever present in the ocean create an aura well below the standard set by Cassia. It still looks blue and creates a nice backdrop for the grounds, but I wish Vietnam would address its ocean pollution issues.
The property is immaculately maintained, well thought out and visually captivating. No matter where you are on the property, you’re enjoying a truly lovely view.

United StatesIf there had to be a facility complaint, it might be that the shower water never got hot, but I will say that 90% of the time, it was refreshing since it is generally quite warm on Phu Quoc. I don’t know if I would have cranked up the temp even if I were able. So, not a real gripe. If I had to gripe, it would be in regards to the ocean pollution. That is beyond Cassia’s control, but the ocean swimming is definitely made less pleasant by all the flotsam and jetsam. I wish jet an would address this issue!
The property is immaculately maintained and manages to feel wild and interesting feel. It’s fun to just stroll the grounds and enjoy the variety of fauna and wildlife. The cottage I stayed in was spacious, comfortable and equipped with an open air outdoor shower, which was private enough. Overall, I highly recommend Cassia Cottages if headed for Phu Quoc. It is a great place to be!

Netherlands- The sea had a lot of trash throughout the day (also dead fish (??), plastic bags, clothes, rubber cleaning gloves). While Cassia Cottage takes very good care of the beach and surroundings, it seems neighbouring hotels dont. We didnt use the sea much because of this. - The two “smaller” pools are great. Its a bit confusing if one of them is an adults only pool, or not. The hotel map says “adults”. However, the sign at the pool also includes rules for kids. - On the 4th night my son found out at 9:30pm his favorite stuffed animal was missing from the room. The reception closes at 10pm so luckily I was in time to ask about this. The front office handled well by asking me for a photo and she sent it directly to the housekeeping. It appeared housekeeping took it for cleaning (??). While the gesture is nice, I find it incorrect that housekeeping took a personal belonging from the room without informing us (even a note would do), or front office (so they could inform us). It would also have prevented an upset child.
- Probably the hotel with the most laidback vibe we’ve ever been too - and we travel A LOT! Amazing! - Rooms are spacious and the outdoor shower is great. - Two pools in front of the rooms (seaview rooms) are lovely and never seemed busy. - Seaview from room 1B is worth it! - Happy hour 17:30-18:30 every day is lovely with a free cocktail (changes every day which is great) - Drinks and food at the Malabar and Spice Restaurant are of very good quality - Staff is friendly and service is fast. Big thank you to Xuan, she stood out from all staff for us. - While others find the early cleaning bothersome, we found is great that the room was cleaned before 10am - The bed has a mosquito net which is very useful, we weren’t stung by them once - The chairs on the veranda are great for an evening drink with a book, or a morning coffee - Breakfast was diverse and of good quality - The hotel has no gym, but there is a great gym within less than 5 mins walking that sells daypasses. They open at 6am, great for a morning workout before the heat starts ;) - The entire property has a really well maintained and beautiful garden and makes you feel like one with nature Overall: we would highly recommend and we will definitely return! My feedback is to perfection details as I believe the hotel has the potential to becoming 5 stars with a few tweaks. Tip: we brought our own anti mosquito device to plug in the powersocket. Because of this we hardly had mosquitos in the room. Could be a great addition to have this in every room. Tip: there a cold water station at the infinity pool. It would be great to provide this at the two other pools as well, perhaps at the spot where towels and kids toys are located.

United KingdomThere really wasn’t much that could’ve been improved. However, some of the sunbeds down on the beach area were a little bit in need of repair. The only other minor issue we had was that sometimes it was difficult to get your room made up if you weren’t out early in the morning. As of this have said, the food in the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey. But that is to be expected.
We absolutely loved our stay at Cassia cottage and would definitely stay again. The grounds are absolutely stunning and very well maintained. Our deluxe double room with garden view was huge, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were excellent. The beach area was very well maintained, Clean and relaxing. The same goes for the pool areas. We had breakfast included and there was a fantastic selection that was fair enough to be interesting for the duration of our stay. The omelette station was fantastic. The local area is great with loads of places to eat and bars to drink at. Sunsets on the beach were amazing.

The infinity pool is beautiful. We also did many yoga sessions with Lewis, in the morning and afternoon. The breakfast buffet is delicious. And the service is just outstanding. AustraliaThe mosquitos and ants. The scooter hire is also quite expensive but we just went elsewhere. As is there airport shuttle services - just get a grab.
It was well maintained with cleaning of the rooms happening daily along with a turn down service with mosquito nets drawn. The staff were extremely friendly, always saying hello as you passed. The breakfast options were varied and catered to all needs. From 5-7pm there is an acoustic duo performing down at the bar and happy hour cocktail from 5.30-6.30 whilst you watch the sunset. The pools are clean and beautiful but the water is quite warm so not overly refreshing when wanting a cool off. There are lots of mosquitoes and ants so make sure you use their free bug spray and they bug killing racquets in your room if you want to use these. Overall a lovely place to stay.

AustraliaOur beach house had great air con in the bedrooms but none in the lounge however if we left the bedroom doors open it cooled down sufficiently. The bed was a little firm for me but I am a soft bed lover so I am not such a good judge and still slept well!
The beautiful gardens helped keep the property cool. The beachfront location was fantastic and with a great beach bar. Our room was very close to and overlooked the pool which was lovely. The breakfast was outstanding with firehouse baked bread making it even more special. Staff were amazing and friendly. Also the fact you can drink the tap water was a luxury in Vietnam!
