How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff is amazing. Very polite, help you with everything. They give you a family feeling. Everything is well organized and they are true hosts. I can’t thank them enough.

Nothing about the hotel per se but we booked the night kayaking with glowing plankton. While the tour was lovely, the plankton does not glow bright blue like advertised (just a PSA so that no one's hopes and dreams are crushed) It would also be great if the hotel could rent/have guests put a deposit down for beach towels.
What a great stay! The hotel is in the perfect location, lots of restaurants and shops at your doorstep. The beaches are a 5 minute drive, which can be done by renting a scooter though the hotel (VND 120k /pd) or by taking one of the island 'golf carts' (10k per way). The hotel was very clean which is always my number 1 priority when booking. Ben, the manager was always available to help and to answer any questions! A real asset to the hotel! Helpful tips: Anyone coming from Hai Phong, there are a few different ways to get to the island. - You can take the ferry and bring your bike - You can take the cable car from Sunworld to the island (100k) - a fun activity - You can take the cheap speedboat for 80k but will need to arrange a car to pick you up (20-30 min drive to the hotel) - You can take the more expensive speedboat for 250k which drops you dead center. About a 10 min walk to the hotel

Breakfest could be better.
Ben was very kind and helpful. He gives us advice for things we can do on the Cat Ba island. Location was very good almoust in the centre od the City.

Friendly staff, huge room, lots of light. Comfortable beds. Mr. Ben could not have been nicer or more helpful. The room was great value for money. I definitely would encourage anyone to stay here.

It is in the center. Beside it is our favorite restaurant Casa Bonita. You can get a discount from the restaurant if you stay in this hotel. Perfect!

Lack of storage for your belongings in the room but wasn’t a big deal.
Location was great close to restaurants and cafes. The owner was really nice and helpful. The Wi-Fi was good and the shower hot. Big selection of free breakfast.

The door of the fridge didn't close tight.

One of our favorite stays in Vietnam. This hotel has it all: clean and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, amazing staff, great wifi, affordable prices, and 10% reduction in the restaurants next door. You can choose between several breakfast options, we can tell you that they're all delicious! We also rented a scooter with them and used the laundry service, no complaints there either. We also had a problem with our transportation to Ninh Binh, Ben immediately helped us and arranged a new transportation. Thank you Ben, you're the best host we could ask for. We'll definitely come back!

The beds were quite hard.
Nice spacious bright room. The owner was also very friendly and was happy to book any tours/ buses for us. You get a discount in the restaurants next door.

Rooms are VERY small. The room floor were wet and sticky. We couldn’t take our shoes off at all. Cups provided were of plastic which didn’t feel good as well.
Location and the host were nice. One day cruise arranged at good price. Breakfast options were good.

The only detail I did not like is the fact that the bathroom smelt a little bad because of the pipe

We can not recommend the laundry service, things were missing, other pieces were added and the whole laundry smelled of fire smoke
Mr Ben is a great Host, the Hotel was clean and comfy, breakfast was good and you could organise or rent everything at place.

We loved our stay in Hong Kong hotel! All the staff were amazingly friendly, interested in helping us plan our days and happy to share their local knowledge. It had clean and very modern rooms, the beds were comfortable and the linen soft! A great choice of breakfast options included each day, and the hotel is also surrounded by many other great restaurants along the street! Scooter rental was super easy and they provided a huge list of the best places to visit around Cat Ba. Would absolutely stay here again if we returned to Cat Ba.
