Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

JapanThe location is a bit far outside Sapa so be aware of that before going. The beds are incredibly hard and we found them quite uncomfortable, however if you like hard beds this should be no problem.
Lovely little hotel/homestay. Very relaxing and near the river.

Amazing and accomodating staff. Amazing location by stream with walking trails through nearby villages. Clean modern bungalows, free breakfast everyday. Scooter rental and taxi organised through property.

United KingdomBed could be comfier and the sheet didn’t fit the bed properly. Not enough hot water to fill the bath. Breakfast included was very basic with awful coffee, would hope for more considering the price. No water refill station & they charged a lot for water. All small things that if sorted could make this a really perfect place.

GermanyWe used the laundry service, unfortunately our laundry smelled a bit like smoke afterwards. It was still clean, I would still recommend the service, we were probably just a bit unlucky.
We had a lovely stay. We especially liked the easy communication with Trinh. The service of the team was amazing , organised a taxi for us, scooters, the hike and even prepared dinner for us, even though we arrived very late. That was really great. What we can especially recommend is to book a trekking tour with Sang. That was our absolute highlight. The accommodation is well situated in Ta Van for hiking and exploring by scooter. It is clean by Vietnamese standards.

JapanWe booked the room with bath tub to take a bath (obviously) but there was never enough hot water to fill the bath tub so we couldn’t take a bath. Also there’s no door to the bathroom, very strange even just staying as a couple or a family. One of the staff speaks no English whatsoever so all she could say was ‘no’. The insulation of the room isn’t good so bugs would just be coming into the room.
Looks beautiful and far from the city madness.

Germanywe had the deluxe Bungalow. was really nice. the property is 4 months old. we knew it would be a bit far away from Sa Pa(10 min by car). We loved the view in the morning. The Staff helped us with everything we needed. Would book this property again.

United StatesThe one big problem, the room specifically advertises AirCon, but there is NONE. I would have given this place a higher rating, except I feel like I didn’t get the room I paid for… with AirCon. In the afternoon the room gets uncomfortably hot because there are high windows and in the evening you can’t open the windows without bugs getting in. I wish the staff would change the advertisement to be more honest that it is only fan-cooled. Otherwise everything else is really nice.
The staff was really nice, the bungalows were very pretty, and the location was great. Bathtub was the best part. Breakfast was good as well.
