How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Locating quality dining establishments can be somewhat challenging, but I suggest utilizing a ride service to get to the city center.
The location is far from the hustle and bustle of the city, resembling a serene residential community. The cozy bed ensures a good night's sleep, and the spacious bathroom is spotlessly clean. The host is incredibly welcoming.

The owner is super nice, and the place is a beautiful home. The rooms and beds are big and comfortable, and everything is very clean. The toilets are the best, with hot showers that are perfect after a day of exploring. Located in the old town, it’s an amazing base to explore the area. Plus, there are free bikes and great AC. This hostel truly feels like home and makes for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

Not really in the touristic area, but easy to get to with a grab.
The place was amazing! The dorm bathroom felt like a hotel, and the bed was comfortable. I could use a free bicycle and shower even after I checked out. The family is the sweetest. Really took care of you.

Actually nothing.
So clean and the the host was truly so hospitable. She let me take the motorbike out for the night for free. She set me up w a couple going on the hai van pass so I didn’t have to drive alone. Very maternal. Her son also was a vibe. Whole place is just elite.

The owner, Chi, was so helpful, I needed to get dollars for a visa and she told me where to go and I could use the bicycles they provide for free to get around! The beds are the most comfortable that I have had in my month in Vietnam and everything is super clean and well looked after, there is also a drinking water tap available in the kitchen!

Chi is the kindest woman I met. She’d do anything to help and make you feel at home. To give just one example: she let me wait for my bus in her own house, even while she was away for work. She kept on saying I should make myself at home and to use anything I need. I could shower if I wanted to. I regret I didn’t ask her to have dinner together, so if you stay here, that’s definitely something I’d suggest doing.

This homestay was amazing !! The room was big, very clean and the mattress so confortable. The owner is very nice and helpful, I can only recommend to go to this homestay if you visit Hué. Close to the citadel by walk

Chi is such a sweetheart. She really makes you feel at home.Cleanliness is next level. The cleanest place I ever stayed at. Good beds, big bathroom and big lockers. She provides some fruit and there is filtered water for free which is really nice. You can rent semi-automatic and automatic bikes. She also does laundry 50k/load. Good prices, wonderful room and amazing host. Really recommend!! Thank you for having me Chi <3

Absolutely fantastic stay! The beds and the bathrooms have nothing to envy a good hotel, and even more the private rooms. The place is super clean and it looks recently renovated. Super friendly hosting couple—she speaks excellent English and gave me great recommendations to try local food. Also very well located, just a 10 minute walk to the Citadel (main city attraction).

There's nothing to dislike about this place. It was awesome.
The woman who ran the homestay was amazing - she gave us three or four consecutive excellent food recommendations. One local place was about $1USD a plate and the food was excellent. Very close to the homestay, and next to it is the best passion fruit juice stand I visited in Vietnam. The room was gorgeous and the hostess was amazing.

Very clean and a very friendly and helpful host. We could even get a shower after checking out. The hostel is super central and the citadel is only a few minutes away. Unfortunately we stayed only one night.

No power outlet next to the bed. This is a very small inconvenience, however, since there are enough power outlets available in the dorm room.
Comfortable bed, clean and high quality facilities but first and foremost super friendly and accommodating hosts.
