The stairs going to the rooms. For the elderly and those with mobility issues, going up the stairs could be a problem

Location - walking distance to the train street and there are rows of restos and coffee shops behind the house. It is also just 3 blocks away to the cathedral and few blocks within the shopping street. Very convenient location whether you're a first time traveler to Hanoi or an old time visitor. The house itself - it's like staying at a relatives house, very homey and comfortable but with the facilities of a hotel. LAN is very helpful and accommodating host. She arranged our transpo without additional charge, kept our luggage for free when we went to Sapa and upgraded our room accommodation when we came back.

The bed was not quite as comfortable as we would have wished. The bathroom was below average, as it looked and felt very old and neglected and it seemed like it had been put together by the neighbourhood handyman at a bargain price. Nevertheless everything worked out just fine, as we only stayed there for one night. For the price we paid it was okay. The temperature in the room was quite hot overnight as the fan provided was inadequate.

Breakfast was good and fresh and prepared on the spot by the lovely staff. The room was big enough and so was the bed. The staff were extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and called a taxi for us twice when we needed one and made sure it actually arrived. Safety was not an issue as the property seemed to be well protected and we never felt threatened. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival at the hotel when the staff rushed out to our taxi to welcome us and carried our luggage up the stairs to the second floor. They also carried it downstairs when we left the next day. They made sure our stay was really good and we feel glad they did.

We arranged a taxi pickup at the airport with our host but the taxi wasn't there. We had to contact the host again before the taxi came. The pictures look very clean and tidy (the rooms are very tidy), but the living room is much more full and messy than on the pictures. We had quite some noise from the street in our room but there are earplugs available.

The location is perfect to explore the city. The local breakfast is very nice and the host is very helpful. Room is clean and spacious.

Our room didn't have a window so keep in mind when booking.

We really enjoyed our stay. The entrance is through the Dim Sum restaurant. The staff were great and helped bring our luggage up the stairs (no elevator). Breakfast was delicious ramen soup, Vietnamese coffee, and fruit. We could store our luggage after checkout. Lovely balcony with a garden that was pleasant to sit in and watch the busy city traffic and people go by. Washer and dryer on site was very handy! The staff were great and automatically dried our clothing and placed in baskets so it was easy to pick-up without having to return constantly and keep an eye on the machines. AC works great.

The room we booked with two beds was located at the very top of the building and had a loft for one of the beds. It was a very small and hot room. The other room we rented was extremely large, and airy.

Very unique property with eclectic art all over. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was enjoyable.

Bathrooms are a bit damp but that’s typical for Hanoi

It was my home for 1 week in Hanoi + 2 days after I came back from traveling around the North and it was so comfortable. As a solo traveler I love feeling looked after by someone, and Lan is an excellent host. She gave many many recommendations for the city and whole of Vietnam. Her staff are lovely and cook excellent breakfasts that change every day.

I had a delightful stay at this cozy apartment with my family. It was impeccably clean, and the breakfast pho was excellent. The hostess was warm and welcoming, making our experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the location was perfect, within walking distance to all the attractions in Hanoi's old quarter. Lan and her team were so kind and accommodating. Carried out bags up the stairs. The breakfast was the best! Room compact, and didn't really need a window. Steps up to the bathroom. Water hot with good pressure. Bed firm, but comfy. Highly recommended! Only 700m easy walk to the train station. Entry through the cafe to the metal gates. Just press the bell.

Nothing. Everything was fantastic. Only one thing to note: the apartment is up several flights of stairs depending on which room you have. If you are mobility limited, I would keep this in mind. However, Lan and her staff insisted on carrying all of our things to our room. The stairs are not a negative, just something to be aware of.

Lan and her staff were exceedingly kind and helpful. They took care of us and anticipated needs that we hadn't even thought of yet. Breakfast was delicious and homemade. It truly felt like we were staying with a friend or family member. The location is excellent and the major sites are easily walkable from the apartment.
