Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, we loved everything about it!
Our room exceeded our expectations, the bed was extremely comfortable, great lighting (not too bright) and the large rain shower was much appreciated. I have no idea how this place manages to be as quiet and tranquil as it is despite being in the middle of the old quarter. The room also had comfy slippers, though they only fit women (too small for men’s feet). Location couldn’t have been more perfect, staff were nice and watched over our luggage as we explored the city on our first day, elevator functioned great for our 7th floor room.

United StatesThis is no fault of the hotel, but the Old Quarter was not for us – it's extremely over-touristed with young hostel-party and adventure types, souvenir shops and massage parlors, beer restaurants serving hamburgers, etc. While the area has interesting architecture and history, it was almost impossible to engage with it. And though it's very central, because of the congestion (tourists & motorbikes & cars on tiny roads), what should have been easy 5-minute walks were almost always stressful 15-minute battles. Again, the hotel was pristine, but just to give other travelers a heads up about the experience of this location.
The hotel is beautifully and cleverly designed: our room was small but very pleasant because of the good design and amazing view of the lake. The staff were attentive and we had breakfast in our room each morning (thank you!). Everything was clean and functioned well. Our entire experience within the hotel was excellent, above and beyond!

United Arab EmiratesThe room had no real window (just narrow glass panels with no view) and it was smaller than I thought but at this price point I can't complain all the more that I spent most of my time exploring the surroundings. My first night was quite noisy as it was saturday night and the streets where animated but the next one was a lot more quiet.
The location is perfect if you want to explore the old town by foot. The staff is really welcoming and here to help in a very natural way. If you want an espresso or if you want to know more about areas you can explore just ask them and they will happily assist (at least that's what thy did for me!) The lobby has a nice homey atmosphere and you have plenty of options for a cheap but tasty lunch or diner around.

FranceWe had two single beds pushed together even though we requested/booked the room with one large double bed. The room we stayed in on the first floor was not very well isolated and you could hear a lot from the reception downstairs, especially in the morning.
The minimalist design is beautiful and thoughtful. The room is very comfortable and makes you feel at home. Location in the old quarter is great and yet very calm.

NorwayThe rooms are very crowded. It was really cold outside and so in the entire hotel given its unusual architecture. I wished rooms were preheated as we arrived quite late and it took some time before it was bearable inside.
It is a very modern, stylish, and centrally located place. The staff is kind and helpful. The room is good-looking but not always practically arranged. But all in all we had a comfortable night here.

CanadaWe absolutely loved our short and sweet stay at Concon House. The location was incredible, right in the heart of old Hanoi but perfectly tucked away from the madness of bikes and busy streets. The staff were kind and welcoming, and we really appreciate the refillable water bottles that were provided. Comfortable sleep and strong water pressure.

PolandThe hotel was great - in the middle of old quarter, but in a quiet alley. We booked a room on the 8 floor with a view of the lake. It was great to see the city from above. Really special experience. The staff was also great, helping us with organizing the ride to the airport and supplying with an early-morning breakfast to go, perfect for the first flight. Overall a great experience 🙂

Canadalighting in room could be a little better (brighter); could also have a few well-placed hooks or bars to hang towels, handbags, etc.; fridge in room pretty much useless as it doesn’t really keep anything even slightly cold.
