Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe menu is a bit limited, especially for vegetarians. I had mostly rice and vegetables.
I had a bungalow with a balcony with view onto the canal. Very peaceful and relaxing. You can observe the boats coming up and down, the neighbours taking care of their gardens or just read a book under the shade. I really enjoyed my stay.

BelgiumSome litter left and right, but seems to be brought mainly by the river. The rooms are clean.
As backpacker we were looking for contact with local people. This Homestay was a super experience. If I should come back in this area, I won’t hesitate to book here again. With Anh we had a great trip to the floating market. She included ourself as well as our kids (12-14-16 years old).

Czech RepublicIt is not suitable for everyone, because there are rats running on the ceiling and there is also lot of insects and cobwebs. But it is authentic and normal in the jungle. There is also aviable boat trip to floating market which is a tourist trap and also little bit expensive. You can find cheaper in the CanTho.
We like the View from the terasse to Mekong canal. We also like the environment around with lot of flowers and banana trees. It is very authentic place. The personal is very friendly and helpful and they can speak english well.

ChileWere rebooked to different location (so review perhaps doesn't apply here, but looked similar to the pictures) Only one blanket in 2 person bedroom. Room was not quite clean. Bikes in bad shape, quite far from city center. Vegetation food options were just regular food options, where they sorted the meat out after preparing.
Food was quite good and cheap. Very peacefull environment. Bikes available to reach the city. Nice staff. Cheap housing

FranceWe can feel the hostel is not well maintained, Wich is the shame regarding the high potential of this place. - the bathroom wasn't clean at all - the free bicycles were in really bad condition so don't expect to do a big tour with them - we could hear rats in our room during the night so it you are phobic, don't go ! - It's in the countryside so it's not easy to get out or find food (the hotel propose good instant noodles in case) Despite all that, if you don't expect too much luxury it could be a really great experience for a low price.
The location and atmosphere are incredible, spending the evening on the balcony in front of Mekong was a great moment on our stay in Vietnam. The boat tour was really good with our amazing guide. Thanks again to her !

BelgiumThe distance to any restaurant or bar. Since Grab is not really available.
The real deal. I stayed at a hut at the new accommodation. It was grwat, right at the Delta. But obviously it comes with insects and other animals. But in the end... you know about this, so it was not an issue. Unfortunately I got to experience the "joy" of karaoke every night. The neighbours were big fan of it. Until 10pm-ish. The location is nice - if you just want to do nothing. But Grab is not really available and it's quite a long way to restaurants and other businesses. So I ended up not eating for 2 days because the city is too far and not really cyclable. But the tour they offer is really great!

FranceThé location is defenetly remote, food choice is the hotel and make sure you have some mosquito spray although they provides coils 👍
It was a nice break from the city, exactly what we wanted. The balcony above the water was equipped with long chairs which was very pleasant. The room has a mosquito net. Perfect place to start off from for the floating market, I cannot recommend Anh enough for this tour ! less commercial than the boats starting from the city, much more authentic !

SpainWe booked at Sin Dinh Homestay but it does not exist. They say it is under repairment and send you to Hometravel Mekong Can Tho. We checked the price online and the one they trnansfered us is cheaper, that's why we asked them to pay less according to the real price. They said it was okay and made me cancel my booking to pay them directly the last day. After two days they did not confirm my cancellation and told me I should pay the initial price at the homestay that does not exist... Anyways...we decided to pay the two nights spent there, take our stuff and leave. At the end we even paid more money per night, they were not even capable to talk about what was going on and they just wanted the money. Unfortately we feel they just wanted to take more money and the lied to us, that's why we left. Just for you to be sure you stay at the hostel you booked and checked prices before and pay the first day just in case they change their mind.

ItalyIt's a matter of priority: if you wanna live the city, maybe it's not the best place. But still Can Tho is reachable in twenty minutes by scooter (they can rent you)
Lovely place in the middle of the nature, far away from the city noise. Staff really helpful, really nice tour (little bit expensive and touristy but still worth it). Starting from the river below the homestay before the sunrise is a plus. Nice breakfast

SpainThis is those places were things can go wrong big time. You book this home stay and they will send you a email saying there is a problem and you will stay in a diferent place. The level of dirtyness is big. In the day of the check out the person that was on duty was completly drunk, saying if we were ok to wait for one of his co workers because he was not able to do it.
There was nothing good about it

AustraliaThis was an authentic, raw experience out of the city and directly located on the river. The room was made from palm leaves so sound does travel and you are living with nature eg. Gekkos and birds are loud. The staff were so accommodating and took us by boat on an amazing day tour to various locations. There were free bicycles which the kids loved to explore the village.
