Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLovely property which was nicely decorated and felt very homely. It was well located, being in the countryside but a small walk to the local town. The family who own the property are very kind and we really enjoyed the family meal.

MauritiusWhen we arrived there is a road which is closed on the other side of the guest house and the google map brought us there so we had to walk with our luggage up a steep slope which was not very pleasant on our arrival. Be careful with the routes to the lodge.
The view is very nice and the breakfast is good. You have an electric blanket with the room which is perfect in the cold weather. You can rent scooter with them directly and they are very helpful.

United KingdomIt can get chilly in the evenings during winter, so be sure to pack layers.
We loved our stay here over Christmas. Tiny the dog will become your best friend. The food is amazing, definitely book the family meal and try the really tasty local dishes. We booked a room with a bath and treated ourselves to a herbal bath, the solution you can buy from the guesthouse. The grounds are lovely to sit in when the sun is shining and relax overlooking the river. The bedroom had an electric blanket which was a nice touch to keep you cosy.

SingaporeOnce night falls, visibility can be bad during to the fog, and the drive back to the village could be a little scary, but i guess the local drivers are used to it.
Very cosy with a fire place which keeps us cosy during the cold winter! The resident dog is really cute, and literally begs my husband to give her tummy rubs.. The owner makes such great dinner which you should really try. Definitely value for money. The property sits in Ta Van village, which is about 20-30 min drive from the Sapa Town. Do spend some time to walk around the Ta Van village and you’ll find a very nice spa called La Dao Spa, which is really really good, and a very cool hippy cafe/bar that have live singing on Saturdays, and a cool art gallery cum restaurant which we didn’t manage to try.

United KingdomNothing negative to say. The only thing to keep in mind is that the location of the homestay is quite out of town but perfect for hiking! Tony was also amazing at helping us with transport to the town!
We absolutely loved our stay! The homestay looks out to beautiful views and is really clean. The host Tony was wonderful and he has the sweetest daughter!! They offer family style dinner which was lovely too. We also loved Tiny the dog! Make sure to bring cash beforehand.

United KingdomI loved everything about this place. The breathtaking views, the very large and relaxing garden area, the food (which is 10/10), the beautiful decor (so many lovely little touches in the room which made it feel homey)...and of course Tiny the Dog. The family who run the homestay were friendly and helpful. I always looked forward to having dinner (and sometimes a few glasses of rice wine!) with the family and guests. I ended up extending my stay there by 2 nights, because I found it such an exceptionally relaxing place just to pass time, and because it was a great base for walking trails near Sapa. (It is nicely situated near the shops, bars and restaurants of Ta Van village - and at the start of various walking trails - but without much noise around or any audible road traffic). I stayed in two different rooms while I was there. The Deluxe Room with Bath is such a treat (and excellent value for the price). The other room I stayed in was one of the other rooms that has a shared (outdoor) bathroom, and was much smaller/more basic in terms of facilities - which makes sense because it was about half the price. It was still comfortable and had a sweet little balcony outside.

Belgium- remote location so had to pay 250.000 per taxi ride if you want to visit the city center - rooms were nice but you could hear the other guests/ family very easily - as a tourist you get harassed easily by local women who want to sell you stuff, they follow you around even when you repeatedly told them not to…
- garden was beautiful - peaceful - beautiful house - lovely dog - beautiful environment

TaiwanNo complaints, everything was just perfect.
It was just perfect. Stunning view of mountain, freshly cooked breakfast, beautiful and spacious room, with big glass windows facing mountains. Staff was very polite and friendly, we ran out of cash they allowed paying with bank transfer. And the cherry on the cake is their doggo, Tiny. She is cute and welcoming and super playful. Overall it was the best experience we had in Sapa, away from town and amidst mountains.
