Did not expect to go with a smaller boat for 1 hour to the main cruise ship. Also the bus they offer- I do not recommend. Old and very slow.

The helpful and thoughtful crew in the boat. As an Indonesian, my family and I will always want to have chili in our every meal. Kevin would thoughtfully get us enough chili so we could enjoy our every meal. And Mary who would patiently explain to us how to catch the squid with just using kite thread. We enjoyed the cave sightseeing with boat rowed by the local.

The only minor issue that we felt was that the bathrooms could have been a little cleaner.

The service was extremely good, particularly by our butler Tony. He was attentive and made sure all our needs of the trip were met. He made our trip that much better! We really enjoyed the food and got to experience a diverse variety of activities. Thanks Doris cruise!

Unfortunately there is a really bad smell seeping from the plumbing in the rooms which was not fun. We just spent more time on our balcony instead of the room.

The staff was extremely friendly- especially Kevin. He always made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to make sure we comfortable and happy. We has an issue with water in our initial room and upgraded us at no extra cost in a VIP suite! Micheal was also excellent and very friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed.

Can’t think of any.

You can find many luxury cruise boats and have the same view of Ha Long, the same activities but it’s not guaranteed you’ll find the same genuine hospitality and unique connections. That’s what I really liked about Doris. Our entire stay and experience is enhanced with the kindness and care from both Katie and Mary. Katie provided an exceptional and outstanding customer service. She checked in on us, tended to our every need, and made sure we had a great time overall! Mary also provided stellar customer service and we had a great time squid fishing with her. She connected with the guests and made us feel very welcomed as well. Both these ladies deserve the best, and I will be coming back hoping to see them again next year.

Pillows were too hard and thick to our liking.

Staff were wonderful and accommodating - special mention to Kevin (Khánh) for going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. However, every single member of the Doris Cruise staff were just as lovely, professional and kind. There was so much food with so much variety, we were never hungry. Clean rooms and comfy beds. We especially liked the cute gift we received at the end of the trip. Overall, Doris exceeded our expectations and we are glad that we chose them to experience Ha Long Bay for the first time!

They opted to take us onto the smaller boat to visit the cave even though the weather conditions were not good and there was zero visibility due to smog. We very nearly crashed into a large boat and only managed to swerve away at the last minute when the other boat frantically honked it's horns in warning. It was very scary and a risk that should never have been taken

Doris cruise left a review on their own Booking page on our behalf without our permission. We were going to leave a positive review anyway but the fact they impersonated us has soured the stay a bit. How many other reviews have been left like that?

The cruise was well organized with a good balance of activities and relaxation time. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Our server, Brian, always had a smile on his face. He was attentive and eager to help! The other staff, Mary and Michael, were also exceptional. They made our stay very enjoyable. The food was also delicious and the beds were very comfortable. We are glad we chose a smaller ship that went through Lan Ha Bay (cleaner and less touristy) than Ha Long Bay.

I am very happy we ended up booking a cruise with this company. Our room was comfortable and clean, as presented on the pictures. I want to highlight the employee who was assigned to us, Kevin. He was very cheerful, always smiling and making jokes. In general, the staff always tried to be there for us and accommodate all our wishes. The food was also delicious, they serve a lot of seafood caught right in the bay. We stayed on the boat for one night, but it was such a good experience we were considering to stay for one extra night.

A bit cheeky at the last lunch before we left, we presumed drinks ( water/some soft drinks) would be free as it always was served as part of the buffet meals as help yourself,but a waiter came to the take our order just before the buffet started and charged us extra. Drinks weren't particularly cheap but it's an captive audience and completely expected. Don't let this put you off as we really enjoyed the experience as a family of four!

The setting was amazing as were the rooms. We went on the 2 night /3 day cruise and really enjoyed our second day out which you wouldn't get on the 1 night cruise. The smaller boat had sunbeds to relax and was very comfortable, (we thought we'd be in a little boat). Cat Ba Island was a really good trip, cycling to Viet Hai village was great ( electric car for those who don't want to cycle)and the swim spot was really clean water. Brian our butler was super helpful, a lovely chap and all staff went out of their way to help with anything. Overall an excellent trip!

WiFi signal was poor⁸

Very helpful staff, especially our butler Jessica. Rooms were very clean and nice. They also have some well thought out activities such as kayaking and squid fishing. The Jacuzzi fantastic.
