How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The stay at this hotel was really great. Clean rooms, good breakfast and best of all the helpful staff. All the time everyone was very willing and helpful, they helped us with everything and finally arranged a transfer to the airport at a good price. I can definitely recommend it. Thank you!

The bathroom could have been designed a little bit better because not having a distinguished bathtub made everything wet and slipper
located right in the centre of the old quarter of Hanoi, everything we needed was nearby! The staff was really friendly and made our accommodation easier! Our whole stay was really pleasant

The room is dark.

There’s only 1 minor thing with my room, not sure if other rooms also have it. But because breakfast is on the 7th floor, people passed near my room (5th floor) to access the staircase to go up in the morning. This just instantly woke me up because the room is not completely soundproof. It might be that other rooms don’t have this problem at all, but that’s the only thing I can think of that I didn’t like.
I love how they keep the place clean, there’s a cleaning lady to clean the room every day. She’s the sweetest! There’s a mini fridge with drinks and snacks in the room (not free, but also not expensive). You can eat a simple breakfast every morning with some eggs toast and fruit, which works well for me because I don’t have a big appetite in the morning. The staff is very attentive, they can even help you with booking tours around Hanoi. They were also okay with me extending my stay last minute and didn’t make a big deal out of it. All in all a very comfortable stay.

This hotel is located in the centre of the Old Quarter. Everything from great restaurants, delicious street foods and entertainment is within walking distance, yet surprisingly quiet being situated on a narrow street. We particularly enjoyed having a short 2 minute walk to the lake where you can stretch the legs, admiring the beautifully maintained gardens of the lake perimeter or just sit and soak up the positive energy of the city. The Hotel staff are warm and welcoming, more than happy to help with arranging tours or directions to the best spots to eat the traditional cuisine of Hanoi. Great stay, we'll definitely be back.

Bathroom floor is very slippery after a bath. WiFi signal gets cut off now and then. The mattress was a bit too soft.
