Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandMost staff did not have little to no English (booking.com says all staff have English and Vietnamese). We had to use google translate everyday. Also the minimart was closed before the allocated time and I asked reception and they just said oh it’s closed, and it was not closing time. They just didn’t want to open it for us. It was rude.
Clean, big room, facilities and breakfast were good!

United KingdomWe must mentioned the discrimination and rather subtle racism we ever face in a hotel (having travelled over 50 countries and staying in many nice hotels). We wanted the free buggy trip. First time, the front door guy asked us very rudely where are we from - i said i am from the UK - he repeated again and i said i am from indian origin. Immediately his face changed and said all buggies are busy! Next try we asked a reception staff - she literally looked at me head and toe (i was wearing casual clothes) and perhaps being judgemental she said buggies are busy. Then we approached the manager- who was very nice and apologetic. We explained we are spending a lot of money staying for 6 days, having room service food all the time and getting dinner at the restaurant etc. Dont treat us bad just looking at our skin colour!!! She said we can have a buggy tour whenever we want. She ensured we get a proper tour and sent Phu ong with us. Vuong was the driver and very very nice and kind. They sent us fruit bowl as an apology. We had 3/4 dinners at the Bamboo restaurant and the food wasnt really great. One particular incident we wish to mention about the bar staff. The hotel had a lot of guests in some voucher pacage and did not have space for us for events which is ok. When we wanted to go to the bar for a drink, they asked to pay 1 million for the entrance. We said we will just stay 30 mins and have a drink only but denied. The management needs to understand they cannot close down facilities for in house guests and charge just for entrance (it was not booked for any private event). If this was the case they should have informed about closure so we could arrange outside for our celebrations.
We have quite a mixed feelings about this hotel. We stayed for 6 days just to relax. First of all, the hotel is quite run down doesnt meet standards of 5 stars. The carpet in the room was super old and dirty. The shower was leaking, they did not fix is even after complaining. Most of the reception staff were very rude (it is mentioned in so many reviews do not understand why management doesnt take it seriously). Upon entering the double deluxe room we found the floor full of dirts. Had to request them to clean it again. On a better note, the views are amazing. The lobby is beautiful. Rooms are spacious and nicely cleaned everyday. Only two staff we found to be absolutely amazing- Pho ong and Vuong - what wonderful kindhearted people. The hotel even sent me a birthday cake and card!

United KingdomMany of the hotel restaurants are shut which is understandable as China are still in covid recovery which is having a knock on effect on the entire Halong area.
Lovely bay view suit with comfortable beds and nice hot showers. Beautiful pool and views and yummy and varied breakfast. It really was nice but massive and emptyish (we considered this a plus!).

PhilippinesAs mentioned, some staff is a miss - some needs training on guest engagement and communication. I find that it is difficult to ask for extra amenities. The staff almost always tell you that standard amenities (We are a family of 6 hence not enough) have already been provided which seems like asking extra is too much trouble. Overall, our experience is great. The only thing I would like to bring to management’s attention is our departure transfer. Although it might be booked thru a 3rd party, it is still the hotel’s responsibility on which transportation services are being offered to the guests if the guests asked the hotel to book it. Our departure transfer experience was horrible. The driver was extremely unprofessional - he was doing his side business while we are on our journey. He had to stop by 3 times! First, he met a friend to pick up a box, and then he stopped over to another place to drop this box off to another person. And then again, he stopped over for the 3rd time to meet with another person. The driver drove very recklessly, at one point I’m not sure if he was drinking and energy drink or a beer in a can while driving and this made all of us uncomfortable - mind you, I am travelling with children. To top it all off, the driver continually kept calling and texting the entire time. Despite asking him to stop, he kept doing it. We felt unsafe the entire time. I really hope the management does something about this - it is not ideal to associate your hotel to this transportation company.
I was impressed with Cheryl from FO who made sure I was okay from arrival transfer to departure transfer. I love the view from the room. I love the facilities especially Spa facilities. The staff is a bit of a hit and miss - some are extremely amazing for example Cheryl, and the doorman (I think Hon or Huy). Most FO staff are great! Nothing is too much trouble and they always recommend the best activities. One of the highlights was when my sister got sick and FO sent the nurse and Duty Manager to our room to get her checked. I was impressed with how it was handled. My sister was given anticipatory service, with the Duty Manager providing more water and porridge to make her feel better. Duty Manager even offered late check-out but it was not needed as we were leaving early. Thank you very much for this lovely gesture.

CanadaSomewhat limiter English. Facilities were limited to restaurants, pool and golf course. Was not advised that the golf course was having end of season maintenance. Greens punched and sanded and 2nd fairway unplayable. Caddy was very nice and helpful and her English was pretty good.
Facilities, although limited were very nice. Breakfast choices were quite extensive but by the time we arrived, the food was a little stale.

United KingdomWe used the scooter rental service which was very reasonably priced but the scooter was of lower quality/power than other hotels in Vietnam had provided.
Incredible location and views, the outdoor pool is unique with views over the whole bay. Good breakfast and so many of the rooms have a bay view. Rooms are very spacious and staff were very helpful.

AustraliaWhen we arrived we could only have a sandwich for food - there was nothing else available. Quite strange for a place your size. We came from a trip from Hanoi and wanted to eat something - then the service was super slow - took 20 minutes to get two sandwiches although we were the only guest at the time.
Location to the golf course was the main reason we stayed there.
