Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe lobby did not have/use AC & they served breakfast there too. Way too uncomfortable & hot to enjoy breakfast in the lobby. Need to AC the lobby so when first arriving or eating breakfast, you can relax a bit. Fans blowing top speed in your face while eating isn’t good.

CanadaNo complaints.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. We liked the location, lots of shops and restaurants near by. We happened to be there on the weekend when a number of streets are closed to traffic in the area, the Gardenia is just inside that area so we could easily walk to restaurants and bars and enjoy street entertainment. It's also walking distance to the large market and the Imperial Citadel, we did take a taxi back due to the heat. Room was comfortable and large, AC worked great, breakfast was good, Vietnamese choices or omelettes, pancakes, fruit, etc. I would stay here again.

United StatesThe staff at the hotel was great, they went out of their way to engage you in conversation to try to meet your needs. The breakfast was also excellent. You chose what you wanted each night for the next day. They had the best pho I have ever eaten in a hotel. Our room was a family room as we had been on the road for a while and wanted some space. We had 2 open bedrooms which which accessed a living room. There were 3 burned out bulbs and the wall hair dryer did not work when we arrived. I told the front desk, we went out for coffee they had been replaced upon our return. The front desk also arranged a private car for my friend to do a 3 hour visit to some nearby tombs so that she did not need to take a big tour. Really can’t say enough about the staff. I usually don’t give “5 stars” but they deserve it.

IrelandThe hotel staff were very nice and had informed us on check-in that if we needed any help with tours, bookings or taxis etc that we could let them know which was appreciated. We just felt that every single time we walked past the reception area we were questioned about trips or bookings which I found very uncomfortable. I feel if we wanted to book something with the hotel we would have asked as they informed us we could do. I just found that part of our stay annoying and very salesy and pushy which made us feel awkward and uncomfortable every single time we came in or out of the hotel. We have booked many things through hotels we have stayed in, but this nearly made us want to do opposite and book elsewhere because of how pushy it was and also it was a lot more expensive to go through the hotel as well. The hotel was a little bare and the desk in our room was hanging off the wall a little which could be dangerous if someone leaned on it because it seems like it could fall off the wall easily. Also the cleaners must have left our sliding door unlocked when cleaning our room because for a whole day and night the door was left unlocked so just be careful to check it’s locked when you come back into the room.
The hotel is in a great location! The hotel in general is very clean an even today as we were checking out there was a staff member in the lift cleaning the mirrors etc and there was staff cleaning the hotel on the daily.

NetherlandsThe sofa in the room was dirty and full of stains. We put our own travel cloth on it. otherwise we would not have used it. This is not a complaint about the cleaning staff, because they did a really good job each day. But the management should replace this sofa. The waterpower in the shower was too low. We were on the 7th floor of the hotel. Because of the cool weather, we slept with one of the balcony doors open. However, certainly in the weekend there is a lot of street noise, both from traffic and, in particular, from neighbouring bars. Even with the balcony doors closed, we had to use ear plugs. The balcony is large but has no seating whatsoever. A couple of chairs and a table would make it a much nicer place for guests.
The room was spacious with a sitting area and a large balcony. The room itself was clean and light. The personnel was friendly and helpful. They arranged a pick-up from the airport to the hotel, which went well. The breakfast is adequate. Not a large choice but good enough (fried eggs, pancakes, bread and jam). The location is central for restaurants and cafe's, and a short taxi ride from the Imperial Citadel (you could easily get there on a bicycle). We rented scooters via the hotel to visit the royal tombs. The scooters were a bit run down, but ok.

United StatesLimited table space and closet space. There is an Buddhist monastery across the street. It set out continuous gong/bell sounds at 3am for 30 mins for some sort of religious ritual. Luckily it only happened in one out of our three nights stay.

VietnamI didn’t understand their breakfast system. You had to choose the day before what you wanted to have from a menu. On the day, I was not comfortable to go for things I had not chosen, simple things though.. I felt I needed to ask.. Also, they would turn off the bread toaster as soon as you would take a piece, going back for more, again I felt uncomfortable to ask them to turn on the toaster.. these are little things that can be fixed
