Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Czech RepublicWe stayed 3 nights in the corner room with a view to the valley. Not only the environment is nice but also the owner (fluently english speaking) made us feel like we were at our own backyard but only with the better lookout and awesome breakfast (banana pancakes were like 5* hotel quality). You can have nice hike tour close to the village (bamboo forest) and of course Fansipan and plenty of random waterfalls (the best for us was Love waterfall easilly reachable by motorbike and with little bit of walking - you can swim in the pool under the waterfall). So, all and all we recomend this stay. It is worth it.

United KingdomVin and Bee are lovely hosts, so helpful and interesting to chat to. They seem to embrace hosting people from all over the world. The location is good if you want to explore the region around Sa Pa but avoid crowds. The homestay has great views over the rice fields and mountains. It has a social vibe with outdoor and indoor eating/drinking areas, good places to meet other travellers but is also intimate. The hosts are relaxed but also attentive and professional. We had to check out very early, so Bee kindly prepared us a breakfast the night before for our journey.

GermanyPerfect location in Ta Van, a lovely village close to Sapa. Totally recommended. The Owners are a lovely family, super friendly and interested. We will miss them. The family dinner at the beginning of the stay was delicious and a good opportunity do get to know everyone.

We had a lovely stay at Ginn’s house in May 2023. You couldn’t have nicer hosts if you tried they really went out of their way to make our stay extra special! The location is about a 30 minute scooter ride out of Sapa town but there are some great restaurants in walking distance and the area is great for hiking and tranquility. We especially loved the view from our balcony.

If you consider to book this homestay, please do it right now The host is so kind and her food is priceless. It tastes very good and fresh. The room is cozy and you can see a big rice field every morning through big window. The bed is comfy to lay all the day. Wifi speed is Ok. Around the area you can go trekking or relax at the stream near there. Highly recommend for hideaway/healing/nature people Free board games offered

VietnamEverything, from the friendly check-in to showing the room and facilities. Recently opened and a real gem of a homestay, Owner has years of professional experience in hospitality and it shows, every detail was perfect. Location has some of the best views I've seen in Vietnam in teh past two years, anyone with a camera is going to be spoilt for panoramic views. Breakfast, I'm not usually one for the first meal if the day, but it slept so good, and tasted even better.
