How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast was basic but fine (like most hotel in Vietnam). The breakfast room (rooftop) is smaller than it seems on the photos. Few tables for the number of guests. The lady in charge of breakfast had to be a bit too pushy. Everything else was good. tks
Very friendly receptionists (tks for your smiles and support) Located in the old quarter very convenient for visiting. Street is not too busy/noisy Nice rooms with electric heater (enjoyed as Hanoi was quite cold during our visit)

We will definitely recommend this hotel. Value for money good location and find the receptionists very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Shout out to Ms Lily, Ms Sophie and the two male staffs. We'll ceratainly be back here!

Everything in golden moon suite was great. Amazing location in old quarter and close to everything. Pretty quiet also which is very rare in a city like Hanoi. Very clean and spacious room with balcony. Lily and the whole team were great!! Very helpfull with everything we needed (tickets, money exchange, laundry and general informations). Also the breakfast had variety ( we really like the fresh fruit) and amazing view! We would totally recommend.

Nice breakfast. Great stay. Lily is superb together the other staff. Lily organise all our tours and transfers. Highly recommend Lily. Will come back again.

Excellent central location. All the staff were heloful and extremely attentive. Breakfast was suberb wirh plenty of choice and served on a liovely roof terrace. Attention to detail from welcome to departure was superb - would definitely stay again. Excellent value for money.

The shower head needed to be fixed but was sorted in the end.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect, right in the old quarter. Would recommend staying here.

The location is perfect, you are walking distance from all the tourist sites and there are great cafes and bars around. The breakfast in the morning is also lovely. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Lily at the front desk is so friendly and accommodating and her English is perfect, which is very helpful.

Maybe adding fun to breakfast room.
We had exceptionally good service from staff, above the hotel rating really. Very professional welcome, breakfast is great with nice view, good local advice on food. Great location. Nice and quiet.

It's a little run down, but it's also very cheap - so really just a note that you get what you pay for.
This is a very central hotel & offers good value for money if you're on a budget. Lily, who I was dealing with pre-arrival, was excellent in helping us arrange airport transfer and a trip to Ha Long Bay that we loved. This bonus assistance made this extra good value.

They charged a 3% fee for paying via credit card which was not mentioned anywhere on our booking.com reservation. For such large charges, it isn't that reasonable for us to have the cash available (had we known prior to checking out, maybe we would have found it). I think this should be more clearly communicated to guests, and to be honest, should be removed to be in line with other hotels. I understand adding a fees for small purchases, but hotel bookings are the exact type of transaction that requires credit (no one wants to be holding that much cash). Check-in could have been smoother, we had to wait for the receptionist who was helping another couple book a day trip (feel as though a timely check-in process can make a significant first impression). It would have been nice if there were more spots available to sit for breakfast. There were times where guests were turned away because there was no more room to sit.
Staff were very kind and helpful throughout the stay. Accommodated us well for our requests. The location is right in the heart of the old town, so lots to see, eat and experience within walking distance. We stayed on the 5th floor and the noise was not bad. The breakfast was decent - the food options were pretty good and the space was nice to have a high up view of the city. The room was clean, the room sizes are a bit tight but that can be expected for a hotel in the old quarter. Overall, the value was great and the place is nice, just a couple of small improvements
