How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing. If I was picky I would have preferred a shower cubicle in the main bathroom, but it wasn’t a problem having a wet room style.
Absolutely the best thing about this hotel is the staff. I won’t name them as EVERYONE was helpful and truly wonderful. The room was a great size and we were delighted to have 2 bedrooms together in one suite. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in a while. The location was great - very central in the old city. The lake is an easy 10/15 min walk away. The aircon was fantastic. We also had a fan to use. The breakfast was great for us - eggs were perfect and done especially for us. Overall we were completely happy with choosing this hotel.

The breakfast was limited. Same fruits,juices were there
Location is amazing..all the good food places and shopping is nearby..Emma was amazing..she was concerned about what we did..what all we need to do..we loved as snacks which was there in the hotel..she immediately arranged it for us.. thankyou Emma

We had 3 nights here and enjoyed our stay. Great location, close to all the attractions. Lovely and helpful staff who always said hello and made you feel very welcome. They keep you luggage safe if you leave for an overnight cruise too. Shoutout to Emma for always having a smile on her face! Clean and spacious room, even the economy rooms. They have lower ceilings, but my partner is 190cm tall and had no problems. Thank you for a lovely stay. :)

Great stay at this hotel. The staff kindly upgraded our room when we arrived and we were able to check in early. The rooms were clean and comfortable and just what we needed. We will be back.

Great location and the staff were amazing! Hotel has been refurbished nicely and the two bedroom suite (individual connecting rooms) has the most amazing and huge roof terrace! Will definitely stay again!

The staff is extremely accommodating and helpful! We were greeted with a cold towel and tea upon check in. Rooms are clean, bed is comfy and breakfast was yummy! Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Old Quarter!

The room had no window, but having travelled widely, we know this is common enough in these large cities.
The staff are exceptional - upon our arrival, Anna sat down with us and confirmed our agenda for our holiday, and gave us pointers and advice regarding touring through Hanoi. We took the Sapa package from them and we were treated so well. The staff are professional and polite. The breakfast is delicious. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We’re coming back for another part of our journey and we’re looking forward to their warm welcome.

Blinds of the bathroom were still a bit see through even when it was closed. Some tea and coffee sachets already in the room would be great
