The grubby bedroom and bathroom decor, stained shower mat, and worn sheets. The breakfast selection and quality weren't 4 stars. The cold coffee. USB port lamp arrangement not working. Minimal toiletries in vulnerable containers.

The staff were very helpful, professional, and dealt with queries and alteration to our booking efficiently. The Breakfast room had great views from the 10th floor. It was a stones throw from the lake with a good variety of restaurants bars and shops. Beautifully furniture throughout and comfy beds. Excellent omelette.

The housekeeping was not up to standard. The bathroom glasses were not cleaned, the tea & coffee not replaced and it did not seem to have been swept.

My room didn’t lock which was a bit concerning as a solo traveller, I did tell the staff but I don’t think it ever got fixed? Apart from that I had a lovely stay!

we had standard rooms to begin with and they were a little shabbier than the last two pre pandemic times I stayed at the Golden Silk. We upgraded for our last night and loved that room.

The electric kettle was not thoroughly cleaned & residue of instant noodle seasonings were stuck inside kettle. I re-cleaned kettle few times before use.

This is a great hotel in the middle of the Old Quarter. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We loved our barman! This is our 2nd stay here and is great value for money and it is good to stay in a smaller hotel.

Honestly can't think of a damn thing. I even extended an extra day just because the place was so perfectly suited for exactly what I needed.

I already live in Hanoi, but I needed a staycation to clear my mind. I took 2 weeks and stayed at 4 different places. I wish I had spent the entire two weeks at Golden Silk Boutique Hotel. It's easy to find. Great location near Hoan Kiem Lake. That means there are plenty of food options available as well as scenic walks, art galleries, and plenty of space to move around. I took a walk around the lake every day. Let me just say I am extraordinarily appreciative of Emily and her staff for the hospitality they showed me, from the moment I checked in until I left, (after extending my original booking). They helped me find exactly what I needed. I needed a quiet, spacious, and inspiring place to write and that is exactly what I was offered. The hotel is gorgeous. My room was gorgeous. The included breakfast was fabulous. My large balcony view made all the difference when I needed a change of perspective from my comfortable desk space. The large king bed was comfortable and the pillows were just right. But all that is the easy part. It's not hard to spend the dollars to outfit a room. The Staff was probably the best part of my stay. The room was absolutely perfect, but the staff was the best complement to it. Even if the room was just average (again, it was perfect, btw), the staff would have made it more than worth the stay. I'm currently backpacking around the world. I've been in Vietnam since Covid. Of all the places I've booked. This is now in my top 3. I will for sure return for another staycation and I think you'd do yourself well to think about the same sort of getaway. You know you need it.
