How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Natalie from the staff is amazing, she will always do her help to assist you with any requests and is really considerate about the well-being of the guests. She will be able to provide you with the best recommendations around, depending on your preferences. Shower - hot water system was difficult to use. The weather was warm during my stay so the hot water wasn't an issue.
Very convenient location and the room was comfortable. Staff was excellent - attended to my needs and requests without hesitation.

Location was perfect, right in the heart of the old town, close to many cafes and restaurant. Btw the Italian restaurant right in front of the hotel, is amazing. The receptionist, Natalie, was perfect in helping in any way I needed.

The staff and the beds
The room is basic but nice with great space. But what really makes this place is the staff. Natalie is absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to help me. I was travelling by myself and was overwhelmed at times and Natalie made sure I had everything I needed.

Tiny ants in the room. A small part of the walls becomes damp when the storm hits.
The beds are very comfortable. Good aircon. Close to the lake for walks and many eateries. Great service from Natalie who is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Maybe the bathroom, no division to the toilet.
The location is excellent. Near the shopping areas, restaurants, and the lake. The staff are nice as well. The room is so big and also the bed (2 king-size beds for just 3 of us). They clean the room everyday, so new set of towels everyday. 🥰

One of the best place I have ever stayed in Hanoi! From outside it looks like a small office, but the room inside is very spacious and as comfortable as a large hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This homestay is located in the heart of ancient town, from here I can reach Hoan Kiem lake just a minute. I love this small street - Hang Hanh Street - which is romantic and exciting with many restaurants, food stalls, foot massage spa, shops and a cocktail bar. I will come back to stay here next times.

The wonderful Natalie made our time in Hanoi so enjoyable with her recommendations on where to eat and booking our coaches to other destinations ,and generally just being a fabulous "go too person" if we needed any help . Our simple and very clean accommodation was perfect as was the position of the Golden Sun Trendy Hotel surrounded by eateries + the beautiful lake a short strole away .The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was spacious + a lift and a travel agency on the first floor to help with tours or travel plans ....Natalie's expertise. We are booked for an additional 3 nights as we move around Northern Vietnam and back to Hanoi.

No sign at eye level so it was hard to find. The hotel is part of the tour operator.
The room was so comfy, I had a good night sleep and the balcony was a bonus for some nice fresh air

Humidity in the room, but it was rain season, so... We booked a room with big window more expensive from our friends that didn't booked with window but we got the same room for different price, because they are all the same 😕

Staff was amazing, she helped us with gold hints to not waste money and time. The room was very spacious with even 2 double bads, clean and comfortable room. Near the city centre.

I guess the wall is thin and we stay on the 2nd floor. So I can hear all the beeping sound of the vehicles all the time.
I love the stay here. Natalie is very helpful and kind. She recommends her favorite places to eat. 100% attentive service from her. The room is spacious and clean. We were able to check in early because of the early arrival, very flexible. Also, the location is prime, very close to the lake, shops and restaurants. Everything is in walkable distance. I really enjoying my vacation. Highly recommended!

The hotel is nice and in the heart of the old quarter. Staff is super nice and friendly, very welcoming, they organized a quick, smooth and perfect transport for us to the airport and provided all info needed. Our room was perfectly cleaned with a super nice view from the rooftop.

Very clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Lots of restaurants, cafés and shops in the neighbourhood. I also booked a tour to the Halong Bay through the hotel and I liked it.
