Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEasily the best run guesthouse I have stayed in. The beds and facilities are great, as is the breakfast. The best part of the place though, are Lin and the rest of the staff who gave me a detailed overview of the region and mapped me out a beautiful three day loop for me to do. The bike was in great condition as well.

AustraliaI’ve spent more than 3 years living and travelling in Vietnam and this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Lin, her husband and their staff are very accomodating and knowledgeable about the region and will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be. There is an area at the front of the hostel where you can hang out and meet other travellers (there’s also beer). They also rent out good quality motorbikes and do tours if you want to do the Cao Bang loop or just explore the area. Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay and wish I had more time to stay there longer!

TogoNothing! Do not hesitate!
Lin, the host, above all! Her English is perfect, so easy to communicate with. She took so much time to help every guest to organise their itinerary and was full of tips. Dinner was delicious! A lot of vegetarian options too. The dorm was spacious and clean and the beds were warm and comfy. Curtains for privacy. The bathroom was also clean with a good hot shower. I rented a bike for 7 days to go from Cao Bang to Ha Giang and it was such good quality. Didn't have a single problem with it, and she was available all along via WhatsApp with tips on route choices, homestays along the way, activity recommendations and of course always checking in I was ok. This was my best experience hands down in all my 45 days in Vietnam.

United StatesLin was such an incredible and kind host! We arrived much earlier than expected off a sleeper bus at 4am and she still woke up and showed us to our beds. We also rented bikes and did the loop up to the waterfall and she was so great and helpful on recommending a route and place to stay along the way. Love this place and such a great team running it! Thank you guys!

United StatesWe stayed in both the private room and the dorm at Green Riders House, and had a fantastic time during our stay in both! The private room was large and comfortable, with a shared bathroom right outside the door. The dorm was also large with curtains and lights in each bunk, as well as lockable cabinets in the room. We had breakfast at the homestay in the mornings which was delicious. The highlight of this homestay are the hosts - they were so welcoming and helpful. Lin helped us organize our day tour to Ban Gioc waterfalls with all of the other stops along the way, gave us food recommendations, and helped us organize our buses to Ha Giang when we left Cao Bang. It was a great stay for the price, and I would definitely recommend staying here!

United KingdomGreen riders is the perfect base to explore the Cao Bang region. The hospitality and service that Lin and her husband Mike deliver is some of the best you will come across in SE Asia. With great knowledge of the local area you will be well equipped to explore the less trodden area of Cao Bằng. The dorm is spacious, comfortable and fairly priced.

GermanyThe best thing about Green Riders in the amazing host Lin! She speaks perfect English and is super friendly and interesting to talk with. We rented bikes from her that she made sure we are comfortable driving before leaving. She basically taught me how to drive a scooter! We also got great recommendations for driving the Cao Bang loop and for nearby restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shared bathroom was clean. One of the best places we stayed in Vietnam!

BelgiumSpotless rooms with all the amenities we needed, flawless motorbike rentals where safety is the number one priority, detailed explanations of the motorbike routes including some hidden gems we otherwise would never have found... I could go on and on, but all of the above things are made possible by Lin and her husband, who are the best hosts we had in Southeast Asia!

Green Riders is the place to go to get a great motorbike and excellent travel information for a ride in the Cao Bang area. Lin and her husband provide all the basic essentials of a guest house. Rooms, dorms, breakfast, dinners and information that will get you to and from Cao Bang. On top of that they can outfit you for whatever motorbike journey you wish to undertake. AustriaThis is probably the best place you want to go to if you want to explore the Cao Bang province. The host, Linh, is a caring person; she takes time for you, explains everything you might wanna know, shows you possible routes etc. You can have a motorbike as well. They are all in good shape. The price is fair to explore the whole province. The house itself is very clean. The dorm smells good and the beds are comfortable.

United StatesSeriously, nothing
We absolutely LOVED the owners of this place. So much so that we actually took a picture with them before we left and I added it to my Vietnam YouTube video. The wife/owner of the place sat down and talked to us for 2+ hours when we showed up, and it was such amazing conversation. She told us all about her and her husbands (who was also amazing but spoke little English) struggle to start a hostel in their city. She spoke almost better English than me and I'm American born and raised. Me and my buddy sincerely and thoroughly loved the stay and talking with her and would love to visit again. The husband also changed my front brake pads on my xr150 which was a pain in the a$$ to find, so it was amazing. Please please support these amazing people, I truly hope you do.

We had a great time and I would even say the best time since we arrived in Vietnam. Lin speaks perfect English and helped us organize our motorbike's trip around Cao Bang. She gave us very useful tips about where to drive and where to sleep. The motorbike was in great condition and she was available at all time for any question. Once our trip finished we slept in the private room. It was big, and very confortable. They took care of the decoration which give a great vibe to the bedroom. We took the dinner at night and it was so yummy. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anybody. Thank you to both of you!!
