I had to less time to spend time on the roof because there was always something to do..... For the programm, we had to leave the boat.

I liked the small boat with the possibilitys to stay on the roof and the quiet room. The meals are very good - you get a lot to eat. During the tree days we had a very interesting programm.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES!!! There was mold in our room, the shower barely worked. Dead bugs in the room and practically no functional WIFI. The drink prices are so expensive and you don't sign as you go, they just show you an itemised bill and you pay ( cash only) everything is in USD and they convert it to Dong and use a high rate. If you want a busy cruise and don't mind a dirty room, then it's fine. If you want a comfy bed And room then book another cruise. It was so expensive and not very good value for money. Had drinks been included or if there was a way to get an all inclusive package then maybe it would be worth it. I can not stress enough weary travellers then the pictures do not match the actual boat. It's old and rickety and I felt as though I might fall through the floor boards.

Location is amazing and it's very beautiful, the 2nd day swimming was enjoyable. Crew was nice and your guide was nice. The activities were enjoyable but so crowded l.

Lack of communication as there are 2 terminals in Halong 15 km’s apart. The terminal is crazy busy, there is no signage where to meet. There had been no maintenance done on this boat for a very long time, the upper deck & railings were full of rot, and the outdoor wooden furniture was in desperate need of repair. It was also not clean. Bath needs a shower curtain to stop water going all over the floor. Door on the interconnecting room would not shut. We had booked a 2-night cruise and were not advised until after dinner on the first night that we would be moved to a different boat for our second night. Violet advised we would not have to go back into port but taken by tender to our next boat. We weren’t happy about moving as day 2 was supposed to be our day to “relax” but we had no choice. We were told to check out of our room by 9:30am, the boat then motored back to port, total opposite to what we had been told. We were left sitting in the heat without an offer of water until 11:45 at which time I went below and asked a staff member what was happening. With the tour guide gone, I think they had forgotten about us. We were then transported a couple of hundred meters to our next boat the “Garden Bay Legend”, which I have to say was a god send. As you can imagine, by this stage my partner and I were not in good moods as half our day had been wasted. Although this was another old wooden boat, it was in much better condition than the first. The food, staff and cabin were of a higher standard. Had this been our boat for the 2 nights, we would be happy. The company needs to update the images used for marketing as they are seriously misleading. Read the fine print, you are charged for water, tea & coffee, all in US dollars. Experiencing one of the 7 wonders of the world was great, I suggest you book with an alternative company.

On the first boat, our cabin was spacious and had a comfortable bed. The guide Violet was pleasant, informative and spoke very good English. Everything from the meals, our cabin, the staff and the service was far superior on the second boat.

Advertised as all inclusive. no drink of any kind was included. $10 per bottle fee if you took own alcohol from the shore. Food extremely sub standard and very bland. Not the Vietnamese food experience it could have been with all the fresh produce so plentiful, but clearly not used. The boat as had most you see have all seen better days. A shame such a special place like Halong Bay is being ruined by the pollution of so many boats day in day out and the plastic debris and waste in the waters for the sake of tourism.

On day one my friend and I were on the cruise with a vietnamese family of 30 people traveling together. We were the only two guests apart from this family, and they were hard to communicate with. They were also pointing at us and talking about us in vietnamese while laughing. They were filming everything, included us. Several times they would just have their phones up in our faces standing there filming us without consent while we looked rather uncomfortable. We really felt like we intruded a family vacation and wouldnt book this cruise again if we knew about this in advance. (I think this is something the cruise could have warned us about) When we were off to day trip on day 2, we asked the staff what we were to bring, since we didn't know the itinerary in advance. They only told us to bring money and valuables. When we got on the day cruise, we were informed that we were going kayaking and swimming - but we didn't bring swim wear... Also, make sure to be one of the frist people in the shower if you want to have hot water. We also don't feel like the cruise company and the agencies you book the cruise through are communicating. There are misleading information on booking.com that dosen't comply with what's actually going on at the cruise: an example of this is the check-in time, what the itinerary for the days are, as well as no drinks are included even though your booking says SOME drinks are included. Several guests were also told there were going to be free wine and pastries on the Sunset party from their travel agencies, but this was not the case. I think the cruise would do a lot better if they improved their communication with the travel agencies so the guests can have more accurate expectations in order to prevent disappointment.

We liked the day trip on day 2 where we got to visit the Pearl farm and go kayaking for 50 minutes. It was very nice of them to upgrade us to a room with a private balcony for free!!

The value for money is pitiful, instead of 2d 1n you really get about 23 hours as youre picked up at 11 and dropped off at 10 the next day. The schedule is overcrowded with activities (which are optional to be fair) so you dont really get a chance to enjoy the view. All of this disregarding the fact that i was placed on a different cruise ship than i booked due to some unexpected circumstance (although the cruise i got was considered better then the one i booked i personally would have prefered the one that i expected).

Overall not bad for people who enjoy cruises. The views were nice when we got to enjoy them. The room was decently spacious and clean.(although not very new)

Boat was very dated. Paid for a room with a private balcony but other passengers still had access to it which meant they could see right in to our room. The lights didn’t work in the bathroom either. The food was not good, vegetarian options very poor and the seafood made my partner unwell for the following two weeks. We were essentially left behind on the tours because we couldn’t speak Vietnamese which was a shame because we wanted to learn more about the places we stopped. For the money that is charged it is absolutely not worth it and we were so disappointed we actually ended up leaving after one night having paid for two. No offer of a refund was made. On the booking it also states they accept card payments, this is not true. When we requested to pay by card we were told to go to the ATM and take out 11,400,000 VND which is a lot of money, after handing it to the tour guide at the port she then disappeared for 45 minutes which left us feeling a bit uneasy. The evening ‘entertainment’ was squid fishing aka a bamboo stick with a bit of fishing line on, whilst ‘fishing’ our guide was laughing and saying in her 2 years working there she’d only seen one person catch a squid… We were only given prices for drinks in USD which was not helpful as that’s neither our currency at home or the currency of the country we were in. Pretty sure this was an attempt to charge us more.
