Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesThe shower pressure was really good, but it was quite difficult to get the temperature right. Sometimes the water comes out too hot, once you turn it down a little, though, it turns cold quickly.
Location was really convenient - at the heart of the Old Quarters - making it easy to access restaurants, cafés, shops, tourist spots, and attractions. The staff was really accomodating and helpful. They also share good options for things-to-do. The breakfast buffer was great and you even have options to order from their menu. More than your money's worth.

United KingdomThere was construction noise very early in the morning and all day but not the hotels fault.
The location was brilliant, a short walk to the main area but still quiet compared to the main area. The staff were lovely, and able to organise a private taxi to the airport for us. The reception staff on the desk at check out was amazing, so open and friendly. There was a safe in the room also which was good. The beds were also comfortable.

AustriaThe air conditioning unit was on the older side and did not function very well, but luckily it was not too warm at this time of year in Hanoi.
It was in a very convenient location and breakfast was good!

GermanyWe had to change the hotel for the first night and that hotel was definitely worse. Staff seemed uninterested and breakfast was pretty bad. Hanoi Golden Holiday was fine, except of pretty loud construction work at 6am next to the hotel. Wasn't possible to sleep anymore.
Nice big room with a window, good location and exceptionally friendly staff. Breakfast was simple, but fine (egg dishes, fruits, some bakery stuff and vietnamese dishes).

ThailandI recently stayed at the Hanoi Golden Holiday Hotel with my fiancé, and can say without reservation that it was one of the best hotels of our lives. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm and attentive staff, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for an exceptional stay. The hotel's facilities were impeccable, combining elegance and comfort. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and offered a magnificent view of the city. The meticulous cleanliness and attention to detail in the decor really added a touch of luxury to our stay. The service at the Hanoi Golden Holiday Hotel is truly exceptional. The staff were always available to meet our needs, offering helpful recommendations on local attractions, restaurants and must-do activities. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was evident in every interaction, creating a personalized and memorable experience. The breakfast on offer was simply delicious, with a variety of choices to suit all tastes. The quality of the products and the meticulous presentation added a gourmet touch to every morning. The hotel's central location facilitated access to Hanoi's main attractions, which greatly contributed to maximizing our exploration time. The Hanoi Golden Holiday Hotel surpassed all our expectations, and I highly recommend it to all travelers looking for an exceptional experience in Hanoi. Many thanks to the entire hotel team for making our stay so memorable!

United KingdomA bigger window but not really possible for central Hanoi without paying a higher price.
We asked for a quiet room so got a room away from the road with a very tiny window. However for one night this suited us. Room was large - 2 large double beds in it and was clean and well presented. Staff were really friendly and area was within easy walking distance of main town around the lake. Breakfast was quite basic but for the money excellent value.

PhilippinesThe room smells like oil by around 630am, the reason is the kitchen is an open area just below the reception area. I suggest putting in proper ventilation or totally enclosing the kitchen in its own room. Would've given 10 stars if not for this issue.
The receptionists Ms Kim and the other guy are very nice and helpful. They provide daily breakfast with limited selections, but the food is good. Location is within old quarter, so you can walk and explore the area without the need to take public transportation. Overall a good stay, value for money, and would recommend.

GermanyThe breakfast was very average and I‘ve had nicer hotels overall in Vietnam for less but it‘s the city and therefore the value for money was still ok.
Clean and big rooms. Good location within the old quarter. The staff was very friendly and kindly let us check in early after a long flight and stored our luggage until the room was ready.

Staff were very accommodating, special mention to Kim (front office), Wen (cook) and Fis (not sure with spelling, but he works as a porter and cook). Kim helped us book our tours. Freshly cooked and prepared food in morning, thanks for Wen and Fis. Would like to thank all the staffs especially to these 3, Kim, Wen and Fis.

AustraliaNothing it was perfect.
The service here is excellent. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much of a problem. Ms Kim and Mr Happy are wonderful people who made our stay most enjoyable. Our room was big and clean, the street below is lively and interesting which makes the balcony a perfect spot for a morning coffee. All our travel requirements were organised by the hotel including our Halong cruise, Sapa train and the reunification express and we were not disappointed. We were in Vietnam for a month and this was our favourite hotel by far. Highly recommend.

SingaporeThere wasn't much of a city view actually though it didn't really matter to us. Rooms were a little older than what was shown in the pictures though still very well maintained.
It was cheap and the location was really close to the night markets. The morning breakfast was really simple but very nice and tasty. The staff are fantastic and really friendly. We checked in late and the front desk staff was happy to change our rooms (they had upgraded us but it had an extra bed which we didn't need). Welcome drink and cold towel upon arrival was a sweet touch.
