Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaWhat keep me from extending is the bed is so noisy. The bed place sounds made from rattan or wood, and everytime we move, it makes loud noice. We park in front of the hotel, from 12 PM to 7 am. A lady see that we leave at 7 am, and still yelling at us. Her store not even open yet.
We spend 6nights in old quarter area. Everynight changing room, looking for the perfect place. For the price, everything is great. Big room Great location Love the beautiful dogs Host is helpful The room have window, so have option if want a fresh air.

BrazilThe hotel is old. To arrive after 11pm, you have to send a WhatsApp message for the door to be opened. Despite saying that it accepts credit cards, the card machine is not compatible with all cards.
The hotel is well located. You can walk to the main tourist attractions, restaurants and bars. The employee is very available, provides his WhatsApp number and tries to help.

Czech RepublicAs I mentioned, going to a room comes with making it through a hall with dogs. That is not exactly the greatest place for allergy sufferers. Then, I did not like the bed, at all. So hard it was almost impossible for me to get some sleep.
If you like pets as I do, especially dogs, this is a great place to be, since walking to a room comes with going through a hall with nice dogs. Also, the location just in the centre of Hanoi je great a it is quiet despite being so deep in a rush town.

ThailandEarly in the morning we woke up from all of the noise of the streets but I’m sure that in Hanoi it would be difficult to find a place quieter than Hanu’s House.
The place is walking distance from everything which was very nice. The hosts were friendly and welcoming.

AustraliaI do think it is a place to only stay for a few nights- mainly for us because we are not dog people and there was several large, vocal dogs there! Also the shower in our room was not good- attached to the sink so was fiddly to get it to run through the shower hose rather than coming out the tap and the best you could get it was half and half.
Such a great price for the location! Lovely staff, bed was fine not the best but we slept pretty well, room is actually bigger than it looks in the pictures :) Good wifi, has an info book, good A/C, shelves and table, thought it was very clean.

ItalyThe main “problem” was that to access the room you have to go through a clothes shop that of course has shops opening time. When the shop is closed, an old lady who lives there opens and closes the shutters at fixed time and you have to bother her if you need to go in/out later/earlier. For example if you intend to go back after 11 pm you have to tell them in advance. They were always kind but we felt like bothering too much. The main problem occurred when my sister flight time was changed and she had to flight in the night. I wanted to go with her to the airport and then come back (and I told them about it), they let us out but when I got back and rang the bell no one opened and I was left at 5 am in the street. I also tried to WhatsApp but nothing, till almost 50 mins later.
Basic room but good value for the price. Bit noisy but good location to explore the city center.

AustraliaVery good location. Convenient to walk to most attractions around old quarter. Excellent communication. Owner helped us book grab from airport to the accommodation and to the bus station from accommodation. He also helped to book long distance bus ect. with real efficiency. He always sent message after we left to confirm that we got on the buses without problem. We stayed three nights in total on separated days, because travelling to north and back, one night Halong bay cruise and back. They kept our luggages during our one night cruise.

United StatesI dont really have anything bad to say about the stay. The homestay is located in the back of a retail shop, so just be mindful that if you want to leave early in the morning or come back late at night, the front door may be locked.
The host was very friendly and kind, and the room was cleaned everyday. Surprisingly, the room was actually pretty quiet for Hanoi standards!

GermanyIt's a little hard to find because you have to go inside a clothing shop (Lo's Corner) and just ask her. The main thing though are the dogs. Inside the room it's fine but you can smell them on the floor. They're also a little aggressive and had to be kept at bay when entering / leaving the building. So if youre scared of dogs, this is not for you.
The location was really nice, the host was really helpful e.g. staying a night longer. You get a fresh set of towels every day. Very nice budget stay.
