Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Firstly, I want to say what a lovely warm welcome I received from Vi when I arrived to stay with her and her family. Vi speak good english. Vi helped me first to understand the local money the dong because I was really struggling to get to grips with the currency because I had only just arrived from PhnomPenhCambodia. Vi then assisted me by going through the local tours to see if I might be interested in visiting any of them. I decided on the bird garden which had a beautiful scenery with different species of birds, flowers, lazy river, taste the local honey and drink the juice of the pomina fruit, which was lovely to drink. Vi then did lots of photo stops and introduced me to different varieties of locally grown produce such as the cotton trees that is used for the inners of pillows, it was amazing to see and touch the cotton trees. We then went to a rice field to see and touch the actual rice and learn that when the rice fields turn yellow, it is ready to be cut. We then went up to Cam Mountain to visit the pagoda in the Mekong the BIG BUDDHA that stands 33.6m-high statue called the Laughing Buddha in Cấm Mountain in the An Giang Province. You take the mountain road to the ticket office and then it is reachable by cable car which cost £12 cable car included. We then visited the Temple of Bà Chúa Xứ (the local tutelary goddess) at the foot of the Sam Mountain in Chau Doc. Again, it was really interesting to learn about the local culture. Vi advised me where to eat and what to eat, which was really useful as it is a place with limited English. Vi helped me with my forwarding plans in booking my transfer to Can Tho.

Well located in the centre of Chau Doc. Very good value for money. Bakery next door that opens very early in the morning and can provide basic breakfast. Comfortable room, basic but very clean. Really nice lobby area. The best thing is the family who own it, they are so lovely and helpful. The daughter speaks flawless English. They helped us to book the ferry to Cambodia.

ChileThe room was so airy, fresh, and spacious. It had all the details considered. I liked the decoration as well. I felt sooo safe and so at ease and comfortable. For a very reasonable price, Vih, the host, took me to Tra Su Forest, and it was sooo worth it because she is very knowledgeable about the area. She and her family are very sweet and helpful. They also helped me book my bus to the next city.

FranceNothing. Our stay was short but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The host family is absolutely lovely. Vi speaks good English so it is easy to communicate with her, and she went out of her way to help us with different things, and organise our short stay. She spent around one hour on the phone with different people for us, trying to recover my boyfriend’s watch he’d lost on the bus, and change our bus tickets (which would’ve been difficult for us to do because of language barrier). For a small fee you can ask Vi’s mom to cook a delicious and copious meal for you, I definitely recommend you to do it. Her mom also gave some local remedy for stomach pain when my boyfriend told them he had heartburns. The accommodation itself was central, comfortable, spacious enough, quiet, and squeaky clean.

AustriaThere was NOTHING bad about Homestay Khoa!!!
Vi and her family were absolutely AMAZING. She was so helpful in guiding us on what to do in Chau Doc. Her family also offered to cook us dinner one night for only a few dollars per person. The food was DELICIOUS!! She also rented us 2 scooters at a very reasonable rate and was so kind in supporting us throughout the short trip. The room and homestay were IMPECCABLY clean and facilities were 10/10. Honestly, one of the best budget places I've ever stayed in. Anything you needed, Vi and her family were there! They even gave us breakfast at no extra cost. We would return to Chau Doc just to stay here again!!💜 P.s. we also loved their little dog, Mee!

CanadaThe family who runs the homestay are lovely. I had a cold and the mother made me a hot tea with ingredients to fight the cold. I hired Vi, the daughter, to give me a tour on her motorcycle. She took me to Tra Su Bird Sanctuary where I enjoyed a magical paddle along narrow canals through the forest's green wetlands. We also visited Hang Pagoda, built on the side of Sam Mountain, with breathtaking views. The tour took me past fields and rivers that typify the region. I also got a free motorcycle ride to the Chau Doc speedboat, which took me to Phnom Penh. Highly recommended!

The hosts were really kind and helpful. Their advices about sightseeing places and restaurants were always on point. We could rent a scooter for 130000dong (small size) for a day. They took care of our laundry for free. Even though there is no breakfast available, they told us good places to go. They even helped us to book our bus to Phu Quoc. It's really not expensive and well located. I recommend it!
