How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had the best time here in Ho Chi Minh City! It was our 4th time in Saigon and this homestay is the best to stay. Close to the city center. The host is sooo friendly and very accomodating. If you need anything, you just have to ask and she will help you. We really enjoyed our stay. We will be back for sure! (Sorry for the delayed review, the old lady needed some time ;) best regards from us )

Stayed in 3 different accomodations across Ho Chi Minh City and wish I had found Homestay TITO first. Located in a safe, well looked after neighbourhood. The room and host are absolutely lovely and so are the eats and streets around. Highly recommend

The host made me feel at home the moment I walked through the door. The location has that authentic Saigon alley vibe, with little cafes and restaurants within 3-5 minutes' stroll. Expect low-key but efficient accommodation, and live like Saigonese for a while :)

My only complaint is that the property is not well soundproofed (common across Vietnam), so at night you can hear sounds from the street.
I had a great stay at Homestay TITO. The host is incredibly friendly and speaks excellent English. The family was accommodating in helping to arrange a motorbike rental, allowing us to park a motorbike inside, and providing us with information about the area. The room was clean and well-appointed.

Nothing. It’s perfect
The lovely owner of this homestay takes such good care of her guests. She was the best with our daughter and provided us with everything we needed. She upgraded our room to a beautiful one with a balcony for no extra fee and has been very accommodating during our stay. Can definitely recommend.

No window in the room can be hard but with AC totally fine.
Nice location in a quiet alley but close to restaurants, cafés and other facilities. Lovely decoration style in the room, nice shower

Nothing important. The experience was very positive overall.
Good value for money, nice room. The owner allowed us to deposit our luggage for almost whole following day with no charge (we were already leaving for the airport in the evening) which was very helpful.

The air conditioning could have worked better.
Cute little homestay on an adorable hem. Friendly family running the place. Spotlessly clean and simple with some authentic décor choices. For the price it was a great stay.

No lift but the lady who worked there was super kind and helped me to carry my luggage up the stairs.
The apartment was really clean, friendly staff and location was ok. I had a balcony too.

The host is very friendly and helpful! She even woke up very early in the morning to help us get to the airport, and booked a taxi to pick us up. The homestay was close to all of the attractions that we wanted to see, which was very nice!

I really recommend this place to stay, if you want to be a little out of the crowded centre but still close to it. The street is very quiet and everything available in the nearby. The Lady and her husband are very lovable persons, helpful and I felt very very good there. Room has everything you need, good furnitures and is bright! Thanks for the hospitality :)

Because of no curtain, the room gets bright really early in the morning, so it affects my sleep. The bed is also too small for 2 people There is no parking, so you have to pay seperately
