Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceEverything in the hotel was great, however we didn't really enjoy the city of Hué itself. Apart from the Imperial City and the Tombs we did not really enjoy visiting the city and the market in Dong Ba market was very intimidating and we were warned about pick pockets there.
Beautiful 5 star hotel, attentive and helpful staff - wonderful restaurant and breakfast. Reception really helped us to optimise our stay in Hué by organising a driver to take us to the various monuments and sights that are out of the town. We didn't get the chance to use the pool or spa facilities but they looked great. A true 5 star experience.

SpainLike often in Asia the air conditioning in the shared space is too cold but it is the only criticism I can find
A very big room with a balcony facing the swimming pool and a very confortable extra large bed. A breakfast buffet offering a very large choice of quality products and an amazingly nice and efficient staff. This hotel well deserved the Palace name

United KingdomThe food isn't really up to the standard of the hotel. We ate a lunch and dinner and it was OK but nothing to write home about, and the pizza ordered by one of us at lunch had to be sent back because the base wasn't cooked - not what you'd expect. It wasn't charged and the staff were quick to make reparations, so no gripes, but it'd have been better if it hadn't happened. Also.... if you like a comfy seat when dining, this is not the place for you - the chairs seem to have been built for giants! Normal folk would have to perch on the edge of the chair to be anywhere near the table while eating.
This is a very grand hotel. It's situated on a busy main road but soundproofing is good and the pool is located at the back and protected by the shape of the building, so you don't hear much of the noise. If you want sun by the pool all day, it's not the place for you - the building shades the pool for a lot of the day. All the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the place was immaculate when we were there. It is situated close to a small shopping mall which has a supermarket and fast food restaurant, and is within walking distance of the Citadel if you can take the heat and noise of the busy road. We chose to take a Grab but the doorman will get you a taxi quickly. The rooms are well appointed and the beds very comfortable. There is a large and varied breakfast buffet which should leave everybody happy.

United KingdomThere did not appear to be many people around. It is a very big hotel and maybe we just missed people at breakfast. And maybe visitors are only just starting to return to Vietnam. This is not the hotels fault. It is a really lovely hotel and deserves to do well. Staff were excellent in all areas.
Beautiful hotel. All furnishings really high quality. Loved the artwork around the hotel and in the rooms. Very grand looking. Room was huge, so much space and beautifully fitted out. Fantastic shower.

United KingdomAbsolute nothing..
Breakfast fit for a king. Spacious, grand hotel with generously sized rooms. Staff out of this world .. so helpful and friendly, let by example from Le Grand Boss Philippe Lecluse, who we had the total pleasure to talk to. A true gentleman. We loved the live classical evening music, with a post dinner cocktail.. it was marvellous.

The Indochine Palace oozes luxury & offers an exceptional level of service. From the grand entrance with your name on the arrivals welcome screen, to remembering my dietary requirements & arranging food for breakfast for me eg gluten-free pancakes. Being shown how to use & operate everything in my room. The lovely bowl of fresh fruit, the decadent furnishings & the spectacular pool views. Excellent attention to detail. They care about the environment with options to reuse sheets and towels to providing a pencil. In the restaurant there is also a water bottle refill station. Let them arrange one of their drivers to take you on a private tour! Wonderful friendly & helpful staff! 10/10!
