How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

- The only thing I can think of is the slow elevator, though not really a big deal since we are not in a hurry.
- Exceptional staff! A few weeks before check in, they messaged via WhatsApp to assist us in airport transfers and suggested things we can do around Hanoi and even offered to take care of booking things. They were very attentive and tried to make our stay comfortable. My family was amazed by how friendly and polite they were. We checked out very early in the morning and they packed some breakfast for us 🙂 - Great location! It is within the Old Quarter and just a few minutes walk from Hoan Kiem Lake. There are a lot of restaurants, travel agencies, spas, cafes, and shops nearby. Other tourist spots like the Hanoi Opera House, St. Joseph's Cathedral, and temples are also within walking distance. - Low cost for great value! The price is low but the room we got and overall service is topnotch. - Breakfast is good and has a lot of choices. - We got a family room and it was spacious with windows (city view). Towels, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, shave, hair dryer, cotton buds, coffee, tea, TV with Youtube, and slippers are all provided.

Everything was great
Staff were so helpful, I had mistakenly booked an executive room instead of the family room. The executive was too small and family rooms were sold out so they found us a gorgeous room that was even better than the family room we'd previously stayed in and worked out a great rate for us. Saved my bacon for sure. Also booked an early morning car to the airport that was a great price too. Would definitly stay there again.

Noticed no hair conditioner or body moisturiser but these are only minor issues in the scheme of things.
Spacious clean rooms and reasonably priced. Staff were very helpful. We only stayed briefly to do some last minute shopping, rest and shower before our flight home. Staff took initiative and facilitated airport transfers given our brief stay.

Sometimes communication was lost in translation and unless you confirm in writing or speak with senior staff sometimes information is not passed on e.g speaking to staff in Vietnamese to help organise an airport transfer for a friend. Showers initially tricky to work out. If you're not careful you can burn yourself with the water. They could offer a soft pillow in addition to the medium and firm pillows already available.
In the old quarter so close to different attractions. Room was very spacious and clean. Staff attentive and helpful. They offer breakfast which is okay, nothing spectacular.

The design of the bathtub is a little different but that's it.
The staff are excellent! Very attentive and focused on providing the best service possible. Richard was especially exceptional as he helped me: 1) check in early 2) hold my bags after check out seamlessly 3) help me locate a lost item 3 days later 4) help me book a tour 5) follow up with me at any point of the day via text

Nice hotel in a good location by Hoan Kiem lake and just south of the old quarter. Run by a really nice helpful team. Clean room and good breakfast. Main sites were all walkable from the hotel which we liked. We were able to check in early at 7am and have breakfast (for a 600vnd charge) which was appreciated. Overall, very happy.

We love this hotel! We stayed on either end of doing the ha giang loop and they held our bags while we waited and checked us in late night when we got back. Brian and Sophia are incredibly accommodating and made our experience very positive!

Breakfast was ok not excellent. Location is great. Personnel was corteous and very nice. They took care ofnour luggages while we were away on a tour before checking in, and before being back to the hotel after Halong Bay cruise.

Hotel in need of updating, I was assured that the carpets and rooms were currently being updated, we overlooked this as the staff were the most beautiful we have experienced in Vietnam, they could not do enough to assist, will definitely stay here again.
Great location and more importantly excellent staff - Hi Brian - you are amazing! Small breakfast room but accommodating to your needs. Walk to all attractions or Brian will organise for you.
