How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Mark and Ana were extremely welcoming and kind. Mark helped me with arranging the bike plus on d first day i was having trouble contacting the airline so he helped me give his cell phone to contact them. Because of these kinds of gems ( mark n ana ) our stay added more memories. Thank you both for everything.

Very well-kept facility. The location is also amazing, minutes from everything if you leave at a reasonable time. The bed was so comfortable I had to sleep in.

this place is strategically located in the old quarter which makes it super convenient and walking distance to several stores and cafes. the hotel room is clean and the staff were friendly and proactive. one of the staff, Linh made our stay a pleasant experience and she was attentive to our needs when we needed to extend our room stay.

Size of the room could be bigger, soundproofing could be improved as windows lets in a lot of external city noise.
Great location in the epicentre of Hanoi. Staff was really helpfull with any requests. Thomas stands out as a great example of customer service.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's staff
Em Linh, Anna, and Mark were incredibly welcoming upon our return from Halong Bay. They kept our excess luggage secured in our absence and prepared a to-go breakfast for our flight the next morning

We absolutely LOVED this hotel. The decor, staff, rooms, location - everything was perfection! From the moment that we arrived, the staff was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The aesthetic of the hotel is stunning and everything was super clean. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It is close to lot of the major sites in the Old Quarter and we were happy that we were able to walk to all of them with ease, including our favourite coffee shop, Phuong Linh Coffee, with the best viet iced coffee and coconut iced coffee, which was right across the street! The breakfast buffet was wonderful, it had a large variety of food that was fresh, delicious, and nutritious. We originally had another hotel booked as we would be in Hanoi two times during our trip, but we loved this hotel so much that we decided to cancel and rebook this one - best decision ever. Would 100% recommend this hotel and will definitely be back! Thank you to all the amazing staff at La Passion Hanoi Hotel and Spa for the amazing stay!!

The staff were extremely accommodating in all aspects from recommendations for travel from Hanoi, to breakfast, to simple nuances regarding keeping luggage overnight during trips to Halong Bay and packaging us breakfast when we had an early timeline to keep. The property could provide early check-in when the rooms are available and not ask for 30% of the room fare to let us check-in early. Hair conditioner wasn’t available in the rest room; so that could be looked into.

We were negatively surprised by the breakfast staff. The guests at the next table were told that it was possible to choose different dishes from the menu that were not on the buffet selection. We weren't told anything like that, so I went to ask the lady behind the bar if we could have scrambled eggs. She kind of ignored me, didn't pay me any attention even though she saw me. Overall, the ladies at breakfast ignored us for some unknown reason and on the other hand kept staring at us, which was very unprofessional. At check out, the receptionist asked me if we would rate the hotel. I said that we always rate all hotels after each stay, so we will definitely do that. She told me "ok can you do it now?". Which I find inappropriate and I assured her I will do it later. After two hours I received a message on WhatsApp asking me to rate the hotel 10 points and to write a specific name of the lady. I don't even know if this lady communicated with us before or not. I think the hotel should want real feedback so that the staff know what to improve, and maybe then the guests would happily give a good rating.
The hotel is located in a good location right in the old town. The room was nicely equipped, modern and really clean!

Good location. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast has plenty of options. All the staff at reception and restaurant are very nice. Linh was very helpful booking us tours for surrounding areas. Would be very happy to come back again.

The room is quite small.
The location is super convenient, every close to everything. It’s good to stay for a few days traveling around Hanoi. The staffs always ready to open the door for you, and make sure you’re welcomed. Also, the bed and pillows are pretty comfy, I can sleep easily…
