Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe outdoor pool could be heated slightly as it is very windy and the water is cold.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Attentive staff, kind and helpful at every interaction. We stayed in the king suite overlooking the mountains which made our stay very relaxing. Make sure you request a quiet area because some of the mountain side can be loud due to music coming from the park down below the hill.

MalaysiaOne of our rooms was supposed to be Mountain View, but it was only partial Mountain View. Checked with the hotel to change room but they said it’s not possible. Cleanliness can be improved, floor is a bit dusty. Location of the hotel is slightly further away from town, but it’s quieter.
Resort is beautiful with nice indoor and outdoor pools. Room and bathroom are spacious. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast has great variety of selections and most are delicious.

United KingdomVegan options at breakfast were poor, with no soya milk. Bring your own if you want cereal as there are no shops nearby. A lot of the staff are clearly new to the tourism trade, we had to ask twice at times including at check out.
We had a nice stay at Lady Hill resort. The hotel is very modern and clean. Great infinity pool but cold in April, thankfully the indoor pool is heated. The views over the valley are spectacular, even with some fog. The hotel is next to the Fansipan cable car station, but a drive away from Sapa town centre. Thankfully the minibus transfer is free and convenient, but doesn't run late in the evening. The hotel put us in touch with a travel agent, and we had a fantastic walking tour booked through them. They also organised transfers from Lao Cai and to Hanoi by Coach. We had lunch at the Hotel on our last day and the food was good, with a few Vegan options.

United KingdomWe found that we needed more water for the room. Each day, you only get two small bottles, which run out pretty quickly in this climate. There isn’t a shop nearby, so your only other option is to drink water from the mini-bar, which is priced at mini-bar rates! The location is a bit out of the center, but that’s clear when you’re booking. However, the shuttle buses are convenient, or you can easily book a taxi at reception. It was fine for us because we were working during our stay, so we didn’t need to be in the center all the time. If you’re here purely for a holiday and want to be near the center without spending too much time at the resort, it might not be the best fit for you. But for our needs, it was perfect.
We had such a fantastic stay at Lady Sapa. Initially, we were undecided about whether to choose a popular hotel in the center or Lady Sapa, which is a 15-minute shuttle bus ride from town. We definitely don’t regret our decision. It’s a beautifully designed resort with breathtaking views from both the room and the pool. We even managed to capture some stunning photos and drone shots that look out of this world. It was my birthday, and the hotel went above and beyond to make it a special day. They coordinated with my partner, so when we arrived, there were balloons, a cake, and a fruit platter waiting for me. It was absolutely stunning and the best birthday I’ve ever had. I can’t thank the staff enough for this. The staff were also very helpful in booking taxis and transfers and even provided us with packed breakfasts for our early departure. We took advantage of the spa, which was a lovely experience. I highly recommend the salt room and the pool. The room itself was luxurious, complete with an excellent shower and a bathtub with petals. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve stayed in while in Vietnam. The WiFi was strong, allowing us to work for a couple of days, including making video calls with no issues. Breakfast was delicious, featuring fresh fruit, eggs, and pastries. I also recommend trying some of the room service options, like the pasta bolognese and club sandwiches, both of which were delicious. Overall, this was one of our best stays in Southeast Asia, and we would love to return. It’s a new hotel, so everything is top-notch quality, clean, and new.

United StatesJust a couple things- the lovely infinity pool was not heated at all. A lot of pools in Vietnam are not - but Sapa was pretty chilly. Also despite the excellent service elsewhere there was little to no staff around the pool area- we couldn’t even get a cocktail at sunset and were chasing down attendants for towels. It was strange because the service level was overall so high.
The staff was spectacular! So sweet, helpful, and responsive. Lovely accommodations, location, views, value. Almost perfect. The breakfast spread was beautiful and even made our little picky toddler happy.

AustraliaThe service is excellent. The hotel manager John was very professional and thoughtful. He has helped us to organise a private tour and transport back to Hanoi. He also helped us getting all tickets to Fansipan. Always check in with us to ensure we are doing well. The view is stunning, the room is amazing. We had enjoyed our stay so much. Highly recommend this hotel! It’s just next to the cable car station up Fansipan!!

Complimentary shuttle to town and to the entrance of Sun World Fansipan Legend. Beautiful heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room and breathtaking mountain views. Kim organised special breakfast for us to accommodate dietary requirements. Excellent service and friendly staff. New hotel opened in Oct 2023 and the only 5-star in SaPa, would highly recommend a stay in this region and in this hotel!

United KingdomUpon check in we were questioned by the staff trying to charge extra for a bed, but we had already booked and secure price. They were also questioning the age of our daughter, even though I confirmed it on her passport. Not happy.
The property location is perfect just a walk to the cable car. The outdoor Pool is beautiful and this is wonderful to have an indoor pool option.

AustraliaWell I am not sure where to start...this was the most luxurious resort we have ever been to and with the best mountain views including Vietnam's highest mountain Fansipan. The resort is brand new, opened last year and all the amenities are in pristine condition including the jacoozi, Himalayan salt sauna, gym, infinity pool, etc. We stayed for 3 nights with my wife and baby. The food was delicious, being vegetarian, there were ample options in the buffet breakfast and also for lunch and dinner. The hotel manager John is amazing along with all the hotel staff. They gave so much love to the baby and went beyond to make our stay wonderful. Really enjoyed the amenities specially the Jacuzzi and the infinity pool. The resort location is the best with cable car station for Vietnam's highest mountain just outside the resort. And also to visit the glass bridge, heavens gate, waterfalls, etc. This was the best decision especially considering the price we paid for such luxury. Would highly recommend their mountain view room with balcony! Thank you everyone for an amazing experience! Will definitely visit again.

IrelandThis new hotel offers stunning views across the Sapa valley. A spa and infinity pool provide a place to unwind and enjoy this stunning view. The onsite restaurant provides an excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner with views from the restaurant across the valley. The restaurant staff and manager were extremely helpful and friendly for the duration of our stay. The hotel is located approximately 10 minutes drive from the town centre, however, a shuttle bus is available from the hotel throughout the day. The desk manager was helpful with booking tours in the area and transfers back to Hanoi at the end of our stay.
