Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaBeside village Viet Hai, in the bushes, there is plastic trash burning place. All toxic smoke is covering entire village! In the night we had to close all windows to avoid horrible smoke! And we had to leave one day before our provided. It is happening in National Park… Sad!
Very clean and organized. Good dinner in the dining room where You’ll meet other travelers. Beautiful garden, bicycles on hire .

South AfricaThere is sadly an enormous amount of trash. The construction project completely ruins it and the karaoke was an absolute nightmare. I have never seen a so called National Park been treated with so little respect. Can see the potential but at the moment it is not worth it unless you want to do you bicycle ride through the park stuck behind a cement mixer.
The setting has the potential to be absolutely spectacular.

AustraliaEverything costs so much, feels like a tourist trap. Not much to do at Viet Hai. Lots of construction noise all night long (not the fault of hotel though) very 3xpenaiv3 if you eat at the hotel and it is very westernised bland version of Viet food. Super hard beds.
Great room.

IndiaThe water situation is terrible. We are forced to buy plastic water bottles. Install a filter, charge me for refills, i don't care. But forcing me to buy plastic water bottles made me reduce the rating. It is worse on the cruise, as only small bottles are available. The bay will become much more polluted if you don't fix this ASAP. While Thanh and Chilly are very effective, you need more people, especially now that tourism has picked up again. We got unlucky with the tide, so couldn't experience the luminous plankton.
The staff is amazing. Thanh and Chilly really work hard and help the guests, going out of their way. The homestay is basic, but beautiful, and out of the way of tourist crowds. Definitely hard to reach though, so only worth it if you are staying 3+ nights.

Germany- we did not feel very informed, we could ask for some things but there were just a few information comming without asking explicitely - also prices for beverages were not transparent - everything was a little expensive (what is in a way understandable because they have to bring it there) but although the prices were too high and not matching the quality you get - breakfast was okay but. The pancake was good but the soup we didnt like. (you get what you get its not a la carte) - diner was not really satisfying for the price as you also get food in a group of random tourists (what also wasnt communicated) and you pay a fix price in dollar. - we felt a bit isolated as there are not many activities you can do and since nobody really tells you a lot about the nationalparc - service was not really satisfying as there was not a change of towels and kind of hard to talk to someone in order to get service or information - the room wasn really good equiped: no moskito-net (but many moskitos and also some cockroaches - as it is also normal in nature!) no waterboiler, no sheet for stepping outside the bathroom (so it gets wet all the time), no towels for the hands only - the room was quite dark and the light was kind of stressfull bright partylight colours - the biggest problem for us: the room was very mouldy also the pillows if you look under the sheet (black spores) and you also smell it especially when you turn on the AC (what is really unhealthy by the way - you can get sick from this)
- Jerry is a kind person - The garden is beautiful - You are directly connected to the Cat Ba National Parc (a kind of Djungle) - The people in the village seem friendly. - I definately suggest the ride in the public boat to the place and back (stunning riee trough the way) - to be honest: it was our highlight - the tours are kind of nice (a bit too touristic with a 50 person kajaking but it there is a nice boat tour for 40$ per person)
