Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was fantastic. Lovely friendly staff team and beautiful location. We also enjoyed a memorable trekking activity with our guide La. She was great, taking care to guide us on a wonderful trip through the rice fields, bamboo forrests and villages. Highly recommended.

NetherlandsDidn't like the transparent bathroom doors. I prefer more privacy when using the shower and toilet, specially traveling with family, kids, husband.
Breakfast was really good. Location was beautiful, away from the center which was good to be in the middle of rice plantation fields, however not walking distance to/from the center. It costs us 200K Dong to reach and return (each trip) to / from the center.

United KingdomThe food. Don't get me wrong, it was good but it wasn't as exceptional as the rest of the facilities, we had far better food in small establishments during our staff in Vietnam. But like i say, it wasn't bad, just not as 5 star as everything else.
The location, the view, the rooms, the staff were all stunning. its a beautiful place to stay, where nothing was too much bother and everyone was happy to help.

United StatesSome wear and tear in rooms but overall clean. Breakfast selection became a little repetitive after several days.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating, went above and beyond. Location is away from the bustle of Sapa town; serene and relaxing. Great views from all rooms, nice pool and poolside bar service.

Very comfortable hotel, great service with great friendliness. Great location in a stunning valley and away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Sapa but close enough to go for a walk or dinner. The Hotel handled all transport with remarkable efficiency.

Amazing place to stay with awesome views and nice accommodation. Pool area is very impressive. Given where it is (outside of town) you do need taxis to go anywhere, but this should be expected. Spa was great.

Great experience!! Best location. You can rent a bike and explore. Staff was very friendly. I recommend Laxsik Ecolodge for the best place to stay in Sapa. Thank you.

United StatesIt's about 15 minutes away from Sapa town on a very windy road. This may be hard for the motion sickness crowd, but it's so pretty that it is worth the short drives.
The facilities and the views are out of this world. It's such a breathtakingly beautiful spot, that sometimes it felt hard to leave it and venture in to the city. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

ThailandPerhaps the buffet could be made more vegetarian friendly by adding more dishes (almost everything had meat), and leaving the chopped ham etc out of the salads.
We loved the location and the incredible views. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and it was very pleasant to arrive here after a long train journey. We were super early though and they let us use the facilities while waiting for our room. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of foods, although not much choice for vegans. They cooked us tomato tofu and curried vegetables however. The pool was beautiful and the views stunning. The room was also super comfortable and we loved the wooden bathtub. Overall really happy with our stay.

United KingdomWhat a magical place - we changed our plans and stayed an extra night. The view is breathtaking, the rooms are super comfortable and the attention to detail is exceptional. We had a few treatments in the spa and they were amazing - highly recommend the massage. The breakfast choice was superb. We ate in the restaurant a few nights too and they were really accommodating for us as vegetarians. This is a very special place.

Our family bungalow was spacious for a family of four. the grounds were well taken care of. and our favorite food was the salad home grown from the property. Everyone staff member was attentive and kind. I cannot wait to return again.

United KingdomThe spa was a let down. We both booked a massage and although we did change the timing fairly last minute, the whole thing felt a bit amateur. Firstly, we were paying 3 x the cost of a massage in town so we expected the spa rooms to be amazing and the staff to be dedicated hotel spa staff. The rooms were OK but nothing special and the staff has clearly just come over from Sa Pa town - no hotel branded uniform & at the end of the treatment they told us they were going back to town, picked up their scooter helmet & left us in the spa…it felt perfunctory and was the only time I felt cheated in terms of what we paid. My massage was great (my boyfriend’s not good) but it felt like we could have got that exact same ladies in town for a fraction of the price! If you book a bungalow, avoid 1 & 2 - right by the kitchen and staff area so people going past the window all the time and your balcony/bathroom look over a communal space. We moved rooms to get more privacy (which is suggested from the pictures on booking.com). Lastly if you arrive early (ie from the night train or bus from Hanoi) expect not to be able to check in until 3pm so you have a long wait. I think it would have been fine if the sun has been out as we could have been by the pool but we arrived on a rainy day (common) and it was a long time to hang around. I think the hotel would benefit from an earlier check out time so they can do an early check in given a lot of people arrive early.
This is a tricky review as so much about the hotel was great. The best part were undoubtedly the staff, especially Vincent, who went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the views (when they appear!) are stunning. Our room was lovely although we ended up staying in a different room to the one we’d booked, due to some issues upon check in - we had to wait right up until the 3pm check in only to find the bedding was still damp from being washed! Restaurant was nice and great food for the night we ate there. The main issue however is that it just felt like it was that bit too expensive when we thought about what we paid vs what we got and compared to other hotel pricing in Vietnam. It came down to small details, but for that price, you expect the quality of the room/facilities etc to be pretty much prefect.

Special & nice landscaping and also the room's design. It's a quiet place with natural environment for relaxing. With beautiful plants flowers around the hotel. All the lodge's balcony & windows are facing the Padi field terrace & mountains with spectacular scenery. Good to has a cup of coffee/tea while sitting outside the balcony to enjoy the scenery and quiet moment either in the morning or evening. The hotel offered good & varieties breakfast and right outside of the cafe is a mountain view with fascinating scenery. After the breakfast we took a walk around the plants/gardens to enjoy the beautiful blossom flowers. Staffs were very friendly & helpful. Staffs can speak very fluent English too.

IrelandThe views from the property are absolutely spectacular. The rooms are really comfortable and the seats on the porch are beautiful to unwind and take in the scenery. The staff are really helpful and accommodating. They organised a tour with a local lady La who was so interesting and took us on a moderate hike of 5 hours which was my favourite thing we did in Sapa. The breakfast catered for all with a mixture of Vietnamese and western food. We also had dinner there both nights and it was really good and very reasonable.
