Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThere’s not really anywhere to eat around here so day trips to town are essential.
A really cute homestay outside of the bush city, very easy to get to town on the public bus or a grab ride. The hosts were very accommodating, let’s us book an extra night easy as. A very cute cat and nice koi pond, nice facilities and they do your washing too. A great place to stay without having to stay in the crazy town centre, the best way to do it in Hanoi. Would recommend to any and everyone. The best deal you’ll get in town.

United KingdomHad a fantastic experience staying here over the Tet holidays. They were so welcoming and even made me food due to the closure of all nearby stores. Super friendly family environment, big courtyard area and I am travelling by bicycle and there was very safe storage. Short walk and easy bus ride into the centre, perfect for those wanting a quieter stay out the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended

South AfricaAlthough the family recommended a place nearby to get (delicious and cheap) food, aside from this place there are not many food options around at all. We landed up getting almost all our food from here, so if variety is important it's better to get the bus into town to try all the Vietnamese specialities.
Spacious and clean room with a desk, air purifier and a/c (with heater option for the cold months!). Nice bathroom with hot water and towels provided. The family is incredibly generous and hospitable. They gave us warm jackets to wear as we only had summer clothes haha, and often shared food with us. We could get water and cook in their kitchen independently too. They also did our laundry without charge. Definitely recommended if you prefer to be located outside of the city, or if you want to work online (as we did). There is a bus that you can take to get to the centre for cheap.

United KingdomI don't often leave reviews but this home stay was awesome! The family are so so nice. I wish we were there longer and I'd definitely go back. We came down in the morning and sat with the most lovely guy who I'm guessing is the man of the house. He gave us tea and fresh fruit while telling us his family had lived there for years and all lived together. His wife then made us the most yummy food. They were so nice I highly recommend staying here specially if your keen to get out the craziness of the main city. Can't wait to go back and spend more time with these lovely people. X

United StatesThe village is small so there is not many options for dining or visiting. It’s just locals living their lives :)
The room was so comfortable and quiet! We loved lounging in the little nook. The whole family was incredibly kind and social. Really everyone we met in the village was so sweet! We loved having tea and snacks out in the courtyard and watching all the fish :) It was easy to get a grab into the main part of town (about 20-30 minutes). But nice to be away from the noise of town.

ItalyNote that the accommodation is far from the center so you need to take a taxi, bus or rent a motorbike. In the surroundings, there's almost nothing to do (besides a temple nearby) and nowhere to eat.
Lee and the family are amazing, so welcoming and kind. They offered us free laundry, fruits, tea, coffee and they also let us use their private kitchen. Room is big and nice, it's clean and it has everything you need.

IndonesiaNot close to the old quarter, but if you have the Grab app this shouldn’t be a problem. There’s also taxi at the end of the street (walking distance)
We arrived late at night to the property due to flight delays and by the time we got to the house everywhere was closed already but Mr Lee made sure to prepare a yummy food for us and it was totally free! The host family is very nice and kind people. Also got free laundry + free flow tea & coffee hehe

UkraineThe hosts are very friendly and kind. Helped us a few times when our scooter got broken, when we needed to buy helmets online, helped us to make calls and message in Vietnamese. Gave some good advices on where to go for a walk and where to eat. Done laundry for free for us. Shared some food and real Vietnamese coffee. The room is very clean, big bed, I really liked a warm blanket (it was a bit cold at the time stayed here). Beautiful fish and cat there. Thanks for everything :)

GermanyEveryone was super friendly and helpful. We were able to check in in the night and Lee picked us up where the bus dropped us off, we got dinner and fruits for free and the accomodation was also clean:) you have to know that it is quite far from the city center. There is a bus that needs about 45 minutes to arrive. But an advantage is that you do not have the noise of the city. I would recommend this accomodation to anyone!!:)

KazakhstanThere is nothing. I loved everything!
It felt like home. My sister couldn’t arrive to Hanoi, so I was exploring it alone. They always made sure I feel comfortable. They invited me to dinner, borrowed me a bike to explore the area and even prepared a breakfast the day I was leaving. We had to rearrange the dates of stay several times, because of personal issues and they were always understanding. They have a big loving family and you feel like a part of it. It’s in really nice and quite area far from city center, which I loved. I could go on little run and bike rides around village. Also they were suggesting me the best options to plan my travels around Hanoi and making sure I’m safe and sound if I was returning late. I loved my stay and would definitely rate it 100 if I could.

They are such beautiful people with a kind heart, welcoming, friendly, … Huong was more than happy to help us organise our day, he shared a lot of tips and "Must Do" in Hanoï and also shared some local delicious food :D They live in a authentic village 30 minutes away from the busy Town center and they offer us to use their scooter everywhere we wanted to go! I warmly recommend every traveler to stay with them. I hope we’ll meet again ! Cảm ơn Julie and Paul

GermanyThe hosts are very welcoming and made us immediately feel at home. The courtyard is beautiful itself and a communal area for spending time together. We were offered the bicycles to explore the area and had a great time in the calm suburban area. You will be able to find beautiful spots at the river and temple near by. Lovely family and kind hearts that we would happily visit again.
