How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Most modern and comfortable hostel we stayed at during our 6 weeks in Vietnam. Beds aren’t as hard as the rest of SEAsia, curtains, big lockers and cool design. Showers are separate but close and many small rooms near the dorm rooms so it never feels crowded. There are quite a few social areas. Perfect location on the old quarter

The curtains around the bed could be longer, on some of the beds it's just short enough that it won't fully seal. Ac could be better in my room, this is probably different in every room.
Central location, but still on a quiet street. Some places to sit on the first two floors. It's nice enough. Toilets and showers on each floor. Big lockers with keycard lock. Typical backpacking hostel.

The food was a bit average but not bad
I loved staying here, the bed was comfy, the room was cool, LOADS of toilets and showers, really good place and very clean

The AC blows right by where my head is while I sleep and for a few days I've woken up quite congested.
Best hostel I've stayed in so far in Asia and that's despite being top bunk. The beds are comfy, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the staff are very friendly. I was also impressed by the food in the restaurant. I'm still yet to try the pool, which is a nice bonus considering the central location in the Old Quarter.

The location was really nice, very close to the famous Train Track and also the lake. Great restaurants nearby as well. The beds in the hostel were super comfortable. We did get charged extra for early check-in which post places don't do, so that was a bit disappointing.

No lift
Unique hostel with pool and restaurant. When I visited (2 nights) the staff seemed pretty apathetic and spoke with each other in their own language a lot and laughed in front of you, although they did help

Wish sometimes the bathrooms in the rooms were cleaned more often as they got pretty gross after 1 day of 6+ people using them.
This hostel is in the best location in Old Quater, so convenient to see everything. They also book day trips which was amazing and a very easy process. Staff were all so lovely.

There use to be more life in this place (been here 4 years ago). They don’t have a lot of things like at the bar. And don’t offer the free walking tour anymore.
Big beds with curtains. It’s not a social hostel but it’s quiet and comfortable. It’s very central in the old quarter. It’s clean.

Right in the old quarter, comfortable and clean beds, and friendly staff that helps you with every question you have. I also found helpful the tour information desk they have to go hiking in Sapa. Highly recommended.

Pool is quite cold
Great location, friendly staff, nice food. We booked an entire dorm for our family, and the kids loved the set up! Beds are really comfirtable.

It’s a very big and in my experience not overly social hostel.
One of the cleanest hostels I’ve ever been to. Well maintained interior and perfect locations in the midst of a popular area but due to its architecture very quiet

I am older and couldn't manage the bottom bunk bed lol could hardly get up bed is ground level. Nice though. Good accommodation

if pool had been heated, that would have been great. thought breakfast and menu a bit pricey( for area/ property). same with the tours they ran, seemed to be a few dollars more than travelagents outside. so it bothered me that the very excellent value of the rooms, was sort of compensated by a feeling that pricing on food/ trips wasn't made in the same 'spirit'...created some confusion, s I wasn't sure if I loved the place or just liked it ;-)
very good beds for a dorm, and excellent privacy. property had an indoor pool, but during winter the fact it's not heated, makes swimming less appealing. I mistakenly thought breakfast was included, and found it to be rather pricey, considering the superb value for money that the rooms offered. Wifi was fast, staff friendly, and all in all I really liked the property...even if it was a dorm...
