Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoI liked everything. I would definitely go back someday!
My stay at Little Ta Van was perfect. First, family and owner are all super nice and welcoming. I felt good since I arrived! Second, the rooms are cozy and good size. Homestay is clean, in this Homestay you can feel how the owners care about their business and their guests 🤗 The dinner was really good. I love the spring rolls that they cook. I learned about Vietnamese cuisine and I was recommended cool tour with good price at reception. Also the decor and feel of this place brings a more local experience which I was looking for. Look at beautiful dress in picture. Thank you for everything and happy new year!

The food was delicious and they always gave you advice on where is good to see in the town as well as helped with fixing taxi to Sapa and motorbike rental. A must!

Cozy and down to earth. Family atmosphere in a peaceful village away from the busy Sapatown. Cute cats and puppies! “Ice cream” will stay in our memory!

Amazing host!! It's a family run homestay, they have been super hospitable and helpful to plan my stay. I have discovered more of the Vietnamese culture talking with Hung, and that's exactly what I was looking for. They have helped me organise a motorbike tour of the less touristy and very beautiful areas. If you have the time, stay absolutely longer in ta van and come visit Hung.

United KingdomAmazing location, very close to the various treks and a lovely view of the mountains and rice fields. The family were all so warm and welcoming, inviting us to eat dinner and sharing knowledge about treks and the local cultures. We were allowed to keep our room and use the showers for the whole of our last day as our bus wasn’t until that night. Thank you for a brilliant stay! The puppies and kittens were a lovely added bonus 🐱

I really enjoyed staying in the Little Ta Van Homestay! First of all, the owner and his family are so kind and they take care of me like a member of their family. They gave me some suggestions where to go tracking as well! They invited me to have dinner together (the food was so delicious!!) After dinner we walked around together during the night: it was so beautiful! I can speak a little vietnamese and they were very happy to speak in vietnamese with me 😊 The day after, they prepared me a delicious breakfast and then helped me to call a taxi motorbike to the centre. I hope to come back to Sapa and I will definitely come back to Little Ta Van Homestay! Thank you so much!!

Hung is an exceptionally good man. He made sure with his extreme care that I needed nothing. He willingly introduced me to his lovely family, generously invited me to share meals with them the 3 nights I spent in his super clean and tidy facility. He also showed me the interesting paths for hiking (astonishely beautiful area, infinite rice fields, indigenous people) , took the time to point out other places to visit in Vietnam and explain several historical aspects regarding the country. I'm grateful to him and wish him all the best!

TaiwanThis homestay was the best I have stayed at in Vietnam so far. It is at a great location near Sapa in a smaller beautiful village where you have a chance to go for a hike along the rice fields and up the hills. The owner and his family are extremely accommodating and friendly, he welcomed me with a cup of tea, recommended places around to see, introduced his house and garden and talked to me about many things regarding Vietnam. The room I stayed in was simple but very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the mountains and the bathrooms were new and very clean as well. Even after checking out I could stay in until the evening and he gave me snacks and let me use the room and showers again. I recommend this homestay to everybody who wishes to have a lovely experience from Sapa and actually feel at home😊
