Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandIt was well located, very roomy, friendly staff and a great breakfast - the rooms were sound proof so staying close to the rail station was not a problem as we thought it might be.

United Statesthe hotel didn't have a ramp for wheel chair accessible or passenger with multiple suitcases
We visited Sapa, Ninh Binh, Hai Phong via train. thus Mango Hotel is part of the Ha Noi train station. The coffee lounge at this hotel is open for passenger who wait for the train, as well as the restaurant next door open for lunch and dinner for train passenger. The room is quite with amber of space. the room has a dual unit heat/AC. Buffet breakfast has been upgrade compare to previous years stayed prior to Covid-19.

Malaysia-the staff did not even smile and looks tired and look unbothered as if we were nuisance to her -the staff passed us the remote key for the door and did not even bother to explain how to use it (since it’s of a different model) : had to walk all the way back to the counter to ask how -the staff did not even offer to carry our luggages like isn’t that a common courtesy ? -the water from the heater was not so warm
-The location was a WOW factor like you can go out the lobby and walk for 1 minute and you reached the station already :) perfect if you’re in a rush and hate the hassle of booking a taxi -the room was so beautiful !! It felt more like a lovely home studio rather than a hotel! Really comfortable and we even got a huge window with the street view ! The bed are the best !!! Everything is clean and works in perfect order ! -there’s Netflix available in the room too! -IT HAS A BIDET OMG I AM SO HAPPY!

SingaporeThe hotel is just beside the Hanoi Railway station. We had a 10pm train to Sapa. Had some rest before going to catch the train. The backdoor of the hotel leads to the train platform which is really convenient.

New ZealandThe staff spoke English well and were very helpful. We had an early checkout and they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us. This hotel is virtually in the train station which is super convenient if you are arriving and/or leaving by train. We had a room overlooking the platforms and we didn't find the announcements disruptive. It's an easy walk to the Old Quarter.

United StatesThe loud speaker from the Hà Nội train station which announcing train arrives or departs. This speaker goes on from 4:30am to 6:10am. After that time, it's quiet for the rest of the day. The street curb side need to repair. There was a big poodle of water you need to watch out as you get off the taxi
We notified the hotel that we arrive by train from Hải Phòng which departed at 9am and arrived at Long Bien station at 11:30am, The hotel understand the circumstance and let us check in as soon as we arrived at the hotel. This hotel is a transportation hub between plane, train, bus. The hotel has a back door which enters directly into the train station. The restaurant serves breakfast, set of lunch, a la carte, dinner. The hotel also has a lounge which serve afternoon tea and sweet cakes. This hotel is the best spot to catch the train to SaPa, Hải Phòng, Đà Nẳng, also the best spot to ride the number 86 bus to Nội Bài international airport

AustraliaWe booked the Mango Hotel as it is adjacent to the railway station. We only wanted a room from 2pm to approximately 9:00pm when we were to catch the overnight train to Sapa. We agreed to pay for a full day's stay, including breakfast, even though we checked out at 9:00pm. As we would return from Sapa to the Hanoi station a week later at approximately 7:00am, we asked for a voucher we could use to have breakfast at the Mango Hotel at that early hour. However, the Hotel refused to supply a voucher but stated we would have to pay. Poor customer service.
